Review: Gods Eater Burst | VGW
VGW: Gods Eater Burst is a survival-action RPG that really tries to set itself apart from other games in its focus on story, fast paced battles and by always giving you the option of gun or sword. The opening cutscene is a quick anime-style montage with J-Pop by Alan pulsing in the background. The implications here are clear: We’re going to take this genre, and we’re going to make it look good. However, as we’ve seen with Lord of Arcana, there are plenty of pitfalls that developers can fall into, even with lots of pretty styling on top. The box proclaims, “Gods will fall. Humanity will rise.” The question remains: which way will Gods Eater Burst go?
