Lead writer for Dragon Age 2 explains why Bioware chose to structure the "All that Remains" DA2 quest, one of the few quests in which players do not get to influence the outcome, the way that they did. In his response he reveals that they are interested in deconstructing the tendency of always choosing the most 'optimum' choice–ie, where everyone is saved and everything goes well.
