Hulu Plus on Xbox LIVE is Useless and a Total Waste of Time

GPT: "When Hulu Plus was announced for Xbox Live last year I, like many people, was fairly excited for it. This past Friday, we finally saw the release of it on the marketplace. It was supposed to be able to compete with the very popular Netflix instant streaming service but so far it is nowhere near the same level of quality."

It really doesn't make sense why they would release it with such crappy show availability. It's like they really don't want people to pay for it.

VG_Releaser5168d ago

Agreed. They're doing the free trial. Shouldn't you try to make it look good first?

Emilio_Estevez5168d ago

Yeah, and it's not like they didn't have time. The ps3 version was up a while ago and it was just as crappy. You would think they would learn something from it, but nope, they didn't

who uses HULU or Netflix anyway...bittorent people its free and i can get any show/movie i want in any resolution i want for free........ music and video piracy FTW....but im against gameing piracy...ironic isnt it...or hypocritical....BAHH one of the two

WildArmed5167d ago

@jk82

Believe it or not.
Some people gotta pay. Otherwise if there is no profit in the industry, there won't be anything to torrent >.>

OT: yeah. Netflix is my preferred service.
Hulu Plus was disappointing.

darthv725166d ago

I never really used hulu on the pc so when they made a "+" version didnt mean much to me. I do use netflix on a semi regular basis.

I tried out the hulu on 360 and found the quality to be as good as my digital cable for the hd stuff. I dont know about the rest of you but it was pretty good. I watched several episodes of the ABC show modern family.

That is a show not available on my DVR on demand service. I can see lots of family guy stuff on netflix w/o commercials. The little bit of advertising they have in plus doesnt make sense for a paid service.

As an alternative to paying for full cable or dish...it isnt bad so long as a the shows are fully available without restrictions. Yet that isnt on Hulu but the networks themselves have to make the shows available.

Makes no sense for both Hulu and MS to have released it in the state its in, especially after a six month gap from it going on the PS3.

Also have ask, knowing what responses I'll get, how it compares to Hulu+ on the PS3. Have yet to bother with it myself but I hear that it also doesn't offer complete series unlike the regular PC version.

Really have to wonder what Hulu's problem is that they can't deliver equal levels of service over multiple platforms.

Emilio_Estevez5167d ago

I beleive the xbl and psn versions are the same.

gamingdroid5167d ago (Edited 5167d ago )

The issue the author is talking about is content and most likely what Hulu is demanding i.e. the ads and stuff.

Netflix isn't like that and Hulu Plus is the same on PS3 if that gives you any clue.

I didn't even bother trying Hulu Plus, they wanted too much information. Screw em! Never liked their business model as it seems unfriendly, always wanting money, but never giving anything back.

Christopher5167d ago

I did a blog here about PS+ on the PS3 a few months back. The same problems I presented in that blog exist today. Check my profile if you care.

r1sh125167d ago

its true...
why release something that is clearly not finished?

BigKev455168d ago

$8 a month for this? Boo-Haha.

Raichu505167d ago

HULU PLUS IS AWESOME. HOUSE, OFFICE, DAILY SHOW. What more could you want

Kamikaze1355167d ago

That's it? =|

Not for nothing....I love The Office and House, but Netflix just has a whole lot more to offer. Hulu seems like a waste.

Baka-akaB5167d ago

so basically people should love hulu plus for regular tv stuff ?

sinclaircrown5167d ago

They're very different, Netflix and Hulu. For me though:

Netflix $8
+
Hulu $7

= Worth so much more than $100 for DirectTV with 300 channels I rarely ever watch.

Wikkid6665167d ago

I thought the whole purpose for the Plus was not to have to watch commercials. But there they are commercials.
