I have to agree. It's ridiculous how much of a difference it is sometimes. I never really noticed how barren Castle Town looked until these comparisons. Yikes.

i liked the original 'barren' town.. when i played it back then i wasnt thinking about the technical limitations, i was just immersed in the game. so i thought the town was deliberately empty.

a lot of people at the time used to say the n64 was incapable of producing pre-rendered backgrounds (like final fantasy 7, resident evil etc) so the town was a great moment. it was awe inspiring.

i think this version is cool to introduce the game to a new generation, but i think i will miss the old and original game.

yes, a 13 year old game that is better than 90% of the newest games that have come out this gen.

i dont think people are paying 300 for the system just to play ocarina of time alone.

I almost get what you're saying but OOT is not the only reason to own a 3DS.

You have made a point about the game being old. It may be worth it to some, but the game should not cost as much as other launch titles.

Modders do this sort of thing all of the time...for free....but..

As with any remake/reissue/repack type of game, the devs should make some money, but they are not building this game from start to finish. Most of the major hurdles have already been leaped.

Like I said, some may find value here, especially those that missed this game the first time around, but if you've already played the game or still own it like I do, the price of admission might be too high.

I'm all for remakes with updated graphics/gameplay, but I'm not for the milking that occasionally goes one, particularly in the Nintendo camp.

Older repackaged games should not cost as much as new games, even if it is the very good OOT. Should this game cost as much as a brand new Zelda game?

Hose must not get it. Ocarina is pure art, this game alone is worth the purchase of a 3ds. I know I'm getting one the day this game drops, I own 2 copies of this game and can't wait to buy my fourth!

The N64 version have the memorable looks to it. Every times i look at the 64 version its bring a lot memory back. The 3DS version looks kinda weird.

Just look overly colourful. Maybe I'm just too nostalgic when it comes to Zelda OoT. It was, afterall, the game got me officially got me hooked on computer games. The new screens look nice but in a few of the shots, it kinda looks like Link has taken has hit of LSD and is tripping balls around Hyrule castle, watching the walls bleed colour.

if you think color is a problem go play on these gray shooters out there, like modern warfare 2 or batlefield or something like that

for me, the more color there is, the better.

what i love is every part of the game is getting a great graphics upgrade.but it still looks just like the old one.and if you think its a small graphics update you must have eye problems.i think people say its not that big of a graphics update cause the art style matches up so well.and now it runs at a steady 30 frames a second when on n64 it was only like 15 to 16 frames so we are getting the best version with 3d the master quest and boss rush mode,and optional motion controls for weapons that use first person mode like the sling shot and bow-n-arrow.and i can't stress enough that motion controls are optional so you don't have to play that way. so nobody has to start crying about the controls if you don't like motion don't use them it's that simple!crying isn't going to change them!

I don't like the color-scheme (and color saturatioin) at all ,.. It is supposed to be a grittier Zelda,.. I always though it was the grandfather of Twilight princess ,.. Why the f* would they mess with that so much,..

Now it looks more colorful then Wind Waker (they should really port that one also)

All they had to do was re-release this and add a 3D effect and it would've sold ridiculously well.

That they actually put so much work into updating the look of it is really fantastic. Definitely picking this up.

the picture of the temple (11/13) i dont like the 3DS one, i rather keep the dark-theme on it(same goes to some more parts) the kokiri shop looks great, but the market town, i mean, lots of colours.... i dont certainly like it.

PS: i heard that the TLoZ:OoT 64/ rom had a graphical enchancement, and it looks awesome now, is this true?

Agreed,.. Kinda always had Ocarina as a grittier Zelda, like twilight princess..It feels a bit odd,.. What I don't get is why they did not put Wind Waker on 3DS,..

PS: I don't know,.. Unless there is something new,.. It looks pretty great in fullHD with 8AA and 16 aniso as it is,..

I played this game on N64,GC,Wii(VC).....and well emulator
I think big N should give WW another chance and release it
on 3DS instead of this yes it's great and look shiny but srsly who wanna
play the same long game more than 5 times.....snake eater in other hand
is a great example for a worthy remake.

I can't wait for this game got a 3
ds on Friday and I have to say im really impressed with it street fighter and pilotwings look amazing on it. I had read alot of bad press about the 3ds but I though try it for my self and glad I did even though it was £220 I think its worth it as its something different to other consoles out there and I can't wait for this Zelda game its one of the best games Nintendo have made and the 3d effect will look amazing in it.

they put a lot of effort into this and it should be appreciated...whether you buy it or not...however what i dont understand is why they didnt added content to it like more dungeons, more secrets , a new area?
