Wow, so much more colors to the town... it looks amazing and weird at the same time...

LionheartAce5117d ago

I have to agree. It's ridiculous how much of a difference it is sometimes. I never really noticed how barren Castle Town looked until these comparisons. Yikes.

kesvalk5116d ago

i noticed, a lot, i dreaded everytime i needed to go there...

pcz5116d ago

i liked the original 'barren' town.. when i played it back then i wasnt thinking about the technical limitations, i was just immersed in the game. so i thought the town was deliberately empty.

a lot of people at the time used to say the n64 was incapable of producing pre-rendered backgrounds (like final fantasy 7, resident evil etc) so the town was a great moment. it was awe inspiring.

i think this version is cool to introduce the game to a new generation, but i think i will miss the old and original game.

Spitfire_Riggz5117d ago

My friend is always bashing me for not playing "the greatest game of all time"

This is giving me a lot of incentive to buy a 3DS..

come_at_me_bro5117d ago

I would've taken a direct port with 3D. This is just phenomenal.

xShinigamix5117d ago

i might have to pick up this handheld so i could replay this game. this game is good

HOSe5117d ago

$300 to play the game and own the system is still ridiculous no matter how good the game looks - it is still a 13 year old game

fluffydelusions5117d ago

Being old doesn't mean it's bad. Not sure where you got that from. A good game is a good game.

christheredhead5117d ago

yes, a 13 year old game that is better than 90% of the newest games that have come out this gen.

i dont think people are paying 300 for the system just to play ocarina of time alone.

InTheLab5117d ago

I almost get what you're saying but OOT is not the only reason to own a 3DS.

You have made a point about the game being old. It may be worth it to some, but the game should not cost as much as other launch titles.

kesvalk5116d ago (Edited 5116d ago )

i would agree with you, if the game was a port, but game is completely remade...

or, for some strange reason, you think remaking a game don't cost anything?

InTheLab5116d ago

@Kesvalk

Modders do this sort of thing all of the time...for free....but..

As with any remake/reissue/repack type of game, the devs should make some money, but they are not building this game from start to finish. Most of the major hurdles have already been leaped.

Like I said, some may find value here, especially those that missed this game the first time around, but if you've already played the game or still own it like I do, the price of admission might be too high.

I'm all for remakes with updated graphics/gameplay, but I'm not for the milking that occasionally goes one, particularly in the Nintendo camp.

Older repackaged games should not cost as much as new games, even if it is the very good OOT. Should this game cost as much as a brand new Zelda game?

mamotte5117d ago

It's an amazingly good 13 year old game.

Fixed that for you.

Firebird3605117d ago

Hose must not get it. Ocarina is pure art, this game alone is worth the purchase of a 3ds. I know I'm getting one the day this game drops, I own 2 copies of this game and can't wait to buy my fourth!

Yeah. That’s the first I’ve seen it anywhere near #1.

Mario 64 is great but I wouldn’t put it over Mario World.

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list is a crime.

CUnit12312351d ago

Sorry lol. I wrote the article but 5 of us voted for many different games and majority went on the list then we worked on the list. If it were just my personal top favorite we'd seen some xenoblade and star ocean as well as some others. Thanks for checking out it!

RavenWolfx50d ago

Chrono Trigger at 31 makes my heart hurt.

Zeldafan6450d ago

Not having any Xenoblade Chronicles games on the list at all is a crime.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64490d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga490d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic489d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits490d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake490d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex490d ago (Edited 490d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

babadivad490d ago (Edited 490d ago )

It isn't...
