IGN's Reilly offers more Wii 2 rumors - controller details, streaming content, E3 note

IGN's Jim Reilly has posted notices on his Twitter account which contain more Wii 2 rumors about the console's controller and presence at E3.

I dont see the point in this new console just like I didn't see the point in the first wii. It would be silly for me to buy this, because it really ain't no different from the PS3 or Xbox, and I have more than enough to do on these consoles.

wii 2 isn't doing the gaming world any new favors and going on about how Nintendo are making this and that much money is like working for a big company that is hitting 4mil a month target, but the company is only paying you minimum wage, and you cheer for that company like some worker sheep drones.

I am not saying there's nothing to do on the current wii, but I am saying there's more to do on the current xbox/ps3

Yeah exactly right, however I can't stand Mario and I played all those Nin names to death when I had a NES and SNES.

PS3/Xbox still has more to do (in gaming). But Nin may prove me wrong, but I doubt it because they ain't out to prove anything. Flatline............

Pokemon mmo? Which you can then stream to your controller. Pokemon 3rd person, every gym every island, every league, every pokemon. With smash bros style battles...

If it does have dual analog sticks, I hope shoots will still support Wii Remote + Nunchuck style aiming. Ideally, they'd offer both traditional (dual analog) and light gun style aiming. With PS3 shooters now integrating Move support, it'd be a step backwards for Nintendo to do anything else.

Presumably the system will still support Wii style controls, if the backwards compatibility rumors are true.

i feel like we are going to get the exact same announcement from Sony at E3, it just seems like they are promoting the NGP working in harmony with the PS3, so maybe the NGP will have the same type of functionality as the Wii 2

This sounds like BS compared to the other rumor. Nintendo isn't in a position to offer streaming internet gaming, given their shoddy online infrastructure.

Frankly, if they did, I don't think "hardcore" gamers would jump on it, either... they didn't for OnLive.

Also, dual analogs isn't exactly original...

For Nintendo, dual analogs is like a revelation. They have the Wii classic controller but you can't even use the damn thing with every game, so its ridiculous. I believe the Wii classic controller is truly the only dual analog nintendo controller.

After reading some comments, it looks like haters are screaming "it'll be ok as long as it has FPS, we want dual sticks, who needs a wiimote to aim? hey, look! I can aim with a PS move"

If it has the same power as a 6 year old Xbox 360 whats the point?

Nintendo have the casuals already, and the hardcore are not going to drop their PC's/PS3's for this.

Actually, we don't know what it have to offer yet, how much stronger than Xbox360 and PS3, and more important the games.

If it can run Battlefield 3, I think many are jumping in.

Oh, and ofcourse, the price.

Why would you 'jump in' because it can play B3? Your other non nintendo consoles can play that game.

The causal won't buy it, they are happy with the Wii and are sheeping the Kinect at the moment. The hardcore won't buy it if it is weaker than the PS3.

That leaves the 20-30 million nintendo fanboys again. I sense another gamecube coming on.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Gamecube, and to this day still don't understand why it failed. Same with the N64.

Some people have speculated that Nintendo 3DS is actually the controller for Cafe and Cafe could stream the game video to the 3DS instead of TV. That would be convenient if the TV in the house is shared with other people who would otherwise interrupt the session. The major fault with that rumor is that 3DS doesn't have two analog sticks like the Cafe controller is rumored to have, only one, but who knows if there's this wiimote/nunchuck kind of combination with Cafe where 3DS forms a part of the controller.

Assuming the streaming idea is correct, then it would perhaps be possible that the gaming video can also be streamed to 3DS on long distances as well, using the Cafe's capabilities and internet.
