Many of us have already heard the recent news regarding the class-action lawsuit against EA Sports. Although the possibility of free money has a great deal of drawing power, we wanted to play devil’s advocate and provide an unbiased argument to get the thoughts of the public.
Following the release of EA Sports FC 24, the publisher seems to have removed FIFA 14 up to 22 from major digital storefronts.
“Virtual Creations” from Nike's .swoosh WEB3 Platform will be integrated into EA titles.
Nike has struck a deal with Electronic Arts that paves the way for the introduction of NFTs to the publisher’s sports games.
You gotta love EA. They've always got their finger on the pulse of the gaming community in regards to the wants and desires of the players /s
EA: We need a new way to be voted the worst company
Nike: Have you tried child slave labor? No?... well how about a Jordan NFT. We will even throw in Chinese LeBron NFTs for free!
How could they not know this is the wrong ass move. If EA survive this which they will, they are seriously untouchable. Too many casuals play their games and dont know what happening or even give a dam
EA Sports is proposing a 10% revenue share for universities who agree to be in their College Football video game set to be released in July 2024. Schools who choose to participate will receive guaranteed payouts of between $10,000 and $100,000 per year.
Good idea but I expect the NCAA and college boards to swipe away all that money for themselves.
This means 2 things
1.Ultimate Team is Confirmed
2.They have some competition from another Studio
Bro, pay as much as you need to and don't be greedy, cuz I NEED my college football game back 🤣
It was the ONLY sports game I bought annually
If your decision is mixed, be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section. I assume that I know what the general consensus will be, but you never know.
It’s a double edged sword. Due to their exclusivity contract, better games (such as the 2K series) cannot be allowed to use anything licensed by the league. Even if a competitor was to compete, there isn’t the connection players get with their favorite team and players. Stadiums can’t be used and even words like “Superbowl” are not allowed.
However to complain about product and pricing would mean that everyone who purchased a CoD game after CoD2 should also be given reparations. After all, it’s not like they aren’t slapping a skin on each game and taking $60 for the game and then more for map packs.
I think they should complain that they have a monopoly because no other company can use the NFL properties. How is that allowed? They shouldn't be suing over the price fact, because they aren't anymore then $60, but should be suing at the fact they don't have any other options if they want a game with NFL stadiums, etc. in it.
It's hard to tell from the article but are gamers actually suing EA for buying the exclusive right to make NFL games?
If so, the I'm even starting to hate all these sue-happy gamers, seriously they should get a life or just kill themselves because their life must suck soooo bad if they're suing for that reason.
The NFL sold the rights to EA, the NFL had ultimate control....jeez, only in America (I love the US but people can sue someone for farting or coughing it seems)
Whatever the case, I think the appropriate meme is:
"cry more"
