Well I don't agree with 94% of the game on that list.

In my view, a game like tetris isn't better than something like Red Dead because you don't get anything out of it. I play Red Dead or Uncharted or Crysis 2 and I have some sort of emotional connection with the characters in the case of Red Dead and Uncharted or with the environment and whats happening to the human race in terms of Crysis 2.

Tetris may be more fun (I'd still argue otherwise), and it might well be more addicting, but I don't think that it can hold a wick to something of the likes I mentioned above in terms of quality.

Still though, everyone percieves things deferently, and I respectfully disagree with the authour on this one.

Any way, I also tend to rank games with engrossing plots higher than simple "casual" games, but to each their own.

...but I don’t personally agree with #1. Amazing game, but it was excruciatingly short. It’s brevity left me dissatisfied, and that’s not “bet game ever” material, at least for me... though, I do understand their reasoning behind it. Still, I’m glad the top of the list wasn’t stuffed with classics... I get it: The Legend of Zelda is a great game... but many of its successors are better (Like Wind Waker, which GR put at #5)

Agree. Bought and completed Portal twice (PC & 360) but wouldn't rate it in the top 10. Wouldn't include GTA IV or Half Life 2 in top 10 either - especially over Uncharted 2.

Also, did I miss Mass Effect 2 somewhere? No Ratchet & Clank? MGS4?

Yea Portal is not the best ever to me. Good game but this list makes me think of new gamer. I don't mean to sound arrogant or egotistical but some of the placements screamed younger Gen.

I do not think my opinion is better then the author just different.

I disagree with most of these. Killer7? MINECRAFT? Seriously weird. I tried Minecraft once and I absolutely hated it. I get that a lot of people like it but with so many amazing games out there it's really really weird that that game made this list, even if just barely.

On a side note, I think more people need to realize that a classic game isn't automatically an amazing game. Donkey Kong, for example, is great fun, but it's not one of the best games out there. It launched a ton of amazing games, like Donkey Kong Country Returns, but I don't see that on the list, even though it is in many ways better than the original.

Whatever, that's my opinion.

It's just a list, it's not set in stone as the official top 100 games ever. It's someones opinion on what THEY think is their top 100, no need to cry about it.

glad to see starcraft 2 in the top 20. I would also put demons souls in that list. Damn awesome game. A real treat for someone looking for a decent challenge

No Metroid Prime? I agree with the high ranking for Super Metroid (probably my favorite game of all time) but prime was like a 3D Super Metroid and since the trilogy on Wii has become on of my all time faves.

I enjoyed reading this list, because although I don't neccessarily agree with the choices and order, I read about a few games I didn't really know about and I might give them a try.

People who get bent out of shape seeing lists like this shouldn't bother reading them in the first place. If everyone had the same tastes the world would be a very boring place to be.

Rez, contra 3, tomb raider anniversary, DKC, Beyond good & evil, psychonauts, burnout 3:takedown, MGS3:snake eater, god of war, okami, silent hill 2, HL, zelda:twilight princess, mario 64, batman:AA, MGS, RE4, super mario galaxy, bioshock, super metroid, HL2, shadow of collosus, super mario 3, zelda wind waker, portal...

but some are missing:

Resident Evil 2,3, 1st remake
Viewtiful Joe
God hand (people who played it, know that ^^ :)
Conker (I would kill for remake 3DS or a sequel)

I love SSF4 play it till this day have hundred of hrs probably and would not rate it that high maybe top 50 not top 15
