‘WWE All Stars’ Review [Game Rant]

Riley Little writes, "It’s been many years since the last arcade-style WWE game was launched, but to the delight of wrestling fans everywhere, THQ has changed that with the recent release of WWE All Stars. The latest wrestling game from THQ is an over-the-top arcade-inspired wrestling title that brings together two completely different generations of the sport in one ring. The amazing roster in WWE All Stars allows players to live out matches they’ve only been able to dream about, and the actual in-game wrestling is a much-needed overhaul to a genre that seemed to have died a long time ago. The game isn’t perfect however, and there are a few minor issues to be found."

Can't vouch for todays wrestling, haven't seen it in 8 years or better, but the golden age of wrestling was a wonderful event that was so magical it will never be duplicated. It personifies nostalgia and brings back a swell of emotions and memories of near anyone's childhood.

Is it fake? Sure -- but so are your movies and video games. Wrestling is just another form of entertainment. It's unfair for you to not accept that, but accept the above.

You mean wrestling isn't your thing. I accept that, it's not mine either. But just because you dont accept it dosent mean it's any less viable as entertainment to others as video games are to you.

WCW/NWO World Tour and Wrestlemania 2000 were peak wrestling games. Back when wrestling was at the top of pop culture, everyone in school would watch. The gameplay is phenomenal and create your own characters opened up the door to WCW vs WWF. What a time!

WCW/ NWO Revenge and Here Comes The Pain were haven't been beaten.

I was always partial to the arcade wrestling games like Saturday night slam masters, wwf superstars, wrestlefest, wrestlemania, wrestle war and then a NES classic... pro wrestling. By the time the N64 era of wrestling games happened, I wasnt into wrestling much anymore (tv & games).

Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 & 2 > Most games on that list.

Also, WCW/NWO Revenge should be #2 minimum.

An intro to Biomutant

Alex & Mike talk Biomutant, a game from Experiment 101/THQ Nordiq you likely have not heard of. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
