There are enough developers that are not lazy. The only lazy developers are Infinty Ward, Treyarch, and serveral others studios EA is publishing!

Please, Dice were even trash talking leading up to the release of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and what happened? Mediocre community support and a dwindling community. Say what you will about Activision, it's studios and the handling of the Call of Duty franchise but I don't call having the largest online multiplayer community on both consoles treading water. When a game almost 4 years old still has a community larger than your last game, you should shut the hell up.

As for SP, you know depending solely on stupid scripted events, following a guy, shoot some dudes to get from point A to B that's it, fu*kin innovative!

First of all...the first COD came out in 2003...and COD has been imitating COD for almost a decade now.

second, the first Battlefield came out in 2002.

third, the first Medal of Honor came out in 1999 and THAT is what most shooters in this style are "imitating."

last...Battlefield is simply doing it better...and using new tech...and doing things we haven't seen before.

how you gonna act like COD is the benchmark for anything but sales?

COD actually became the benchmark for console multiplayer. How many games do you see now that use some form of perks and killstreaks? This formula has been so successful that they have been able to reiterate on it for years with minimal changes.

DICE haven't showed anything in Battlefield 3 yet that can be classed as innovative. Yeah the graphics look good, but when developers run their mouths constantly it often shows an insecurity with their own product.

Battlefield doesn't need cheap arsed kill streaks... You can jump in a chopper/jet and fly it yourself without the use of tramp AI. A fomula that also hasn't needed changing since it was implemented.

All COD did was dumb it down for the ladies.

I think before Dice starts calling everybody out, maybe they could show a video of how their game looks on consoles and not some high end PC.

Then they could share their budget and how big of a team they have. Then they can tell us all the specifics about their contract with EA.

I'm sure Dice will have a fine looking game and will have it's fair share of the FPS market come the holidays but not every dev is as blessed as Dice is in terms of money and the talent it buys.

If they are implying that COD is treading water then I disagree. Black ops is the highest selling game for a reason. As it stands right now, COD is the franchise to beat, NOT battlefield, or Mirrors edge or MOH.

Activision has just as much money, maybe more as EA and Dice. They have set up an entire economy around the COD franchise and have multiple teams of engineers, artists, writers, PR...etc set up just to make sure that the next COD game will be as good, if not better than ANY of the previous titles.

Dice better hope their game looks as good as the fantasy game they keep showing. COD will be front and center come E3. It's nice that EA and Dice are trying to do a preemptive strike on COD with all the press release but EVERYBODY knows COD is the game to beat this year.

Consoles are unimportant. They are finally getting the shorter end. I'm saying finally, because Consoles ruined so good franchies. Call of Duty became worse once it entered Console, Crysis became TRASH when it reached consoles & Bad Company was the worst Battlefield of all times, being a Console trashcan.

Infinity Ward went from making games to show off their skills, to make games to make sales. Treyarch never a good studio, World at War was good as a single-player title & so is Black Ops, but their multiplayer capabilities are all taken from Infinity Ward.

Yes, in terms of sales Call of Duty is the game to "beat", however - Call of Duty is by no chance GOTY. Never. They just refresh graphics and stories and put all the same content into a "new box". People dig it, I picked it up and played it, untill I realized that it's complete garbage. I've been a CoD-fanboy since CoD1 and now that I've seen what console gaming has done to CoD, it's time to say fuck you CoD, it's become such a terrible game, boring, linear and lacks creative minds.

Please explain what "reason" Black Ops has to be the best selling game ever? Hype, hype, hype. Activision did a BLOODY good job advertising this game, especially bringing in stars to promote it, the simple & only reason it beat MW2 was because of Activisions PR-department. They are hands down the business best. If Black Ops had released a demo, the game wouldn't have had half the sales, because it's simply refreshed trash. Mix MW2 with WAW and you got your Black Ops with renewed graphics.

The funny part is, console gamers just don't care. So easy to fool.

most people on here are console gamers, so your disagrees are to be expected. this doesn’t a change the fact you are very correct on all counts!, console market is very easy to hype up! and please. PC gamers know how much better a PC exclusive game FPS is when done right. What makes me laugh is friends who have converted to console for FPS (quite rightly because keeping up with PC upgrades these days is expensive for most) and they try and convince me that its better?! or rather trying to convince themselves! its all about affordability and accessibility, which consoles offer. When they and I know they would switch straight back to PC if they were as cheap as consoles!

To be fairly honest, I respect the people who go to console because they think PC hardware is too expensive. I think so aswell, however I am fortunate enough to upgrade my PC whenever I want to for whatever reason I may have. It just annoys me when they settle for bad games made by lazy developers instead of making an uproar and actually do something.

Hopefully the masses on consoles will bring PC hardware manufacturers to shame and bring some sense into them lowering prices of PC components.

i only semi agree with you. I for one prefer to play consoles over one simple reason. there are just too much to mess around with at times like video drivers, hardware upgrades and etcs etcs. i can afford all those shit. but i couldnt care less these days. i handle too much systems each day during work. i dont wish to get home and had to do the same with mine. i just want to sit back relax and play simple as that. neither i need to worry when should i be upgrading my pc to play the next game. I know there will be some short coming since consoles are static while pc hardware evolves all the time. but honestly i can live with it. the only time i know i need a new console is where there is really a new one rocking out there. end of story

If MW3 comes out this year it WILL crush Battlefield 3 in sales.

Now as far as gameplay I will say that BF3 will be the winner.

No matter how good another shooter is ppl will gravitate towards what they KNOW. ANd at this time that is COD.

What will make another shooter take the crown is keep making solid games. And eventually COD will fall off. MAYBE lol.

No matter what DICE does. The masses just WONT jump ship that easily.

THis is all my opinion. ANd we shall see once both games release to see who gets the consumers dollars. If I had to bet..it would be all in on COD MW3 ... even though I will be BUYING BF3 lol!

agree... personally i dont quite like BF series. just personal opinion. i quitted cod long time ago too. think the last i play online with was MW1 which i still think is one of the best COD. right now i am enjoying with homefront mp. and i am cool with that for the time being until something new and good comes along. bf3 definitely on my watch list given they hype so freaking much. and i am likely to be disappointed. again its just me since i never like BF series

Yeah im playing Homefront also and very much enjoying the MP.

Some will crap on the game but IMO that size of the maps. The vehicles....the gadgets etc make for a very FUN MP experience.

BF3 will do well and be alot of fun.

I didnt even get into the BF games until BC1. And even when I got it...I didnt jump into the MP until 6 months after I got the game.

Looking back I think I slept on the MP because I was busy with other games..but once I did play it I was blown away by the destruction and land and air vehicles.

I know BF for the PC is the pinnacle. But I have never played it on PC so all I have to go on is Consoles. And comparing it to other console shooters. It is outstanding.

There are a TON of areas they need to improve on and I hope they do all of it in BF3!

Too many FPSs' are being released this year, I have my fill with KZ3 with a multiplayer to keep me going for a long time and I am about to finish Crysis 2 so thats enough FPS for me for while, so I'll be going back LBP2 and GT5 soon until Infamous2 is released.

Yeah its kind of hard to buy all the games (FPS)

What I do is rent. And figure out which ones I like and buy and play.

I rented K3...liked it but sent it back so I could try out Homefront. Next up is Crysis 2. Ill play...see how I like and Maybe buy.

Also Shift 2 ( not a FPS) is coming in the mail. To may games and so little time to BUY them all and PLAY them all!!
