One of the reasons I can't wait for this game.

AAACE54786d ago

He is pretty cool! A good actor by many standards in my opinion, seeing how he played in Lord of the Rings and switched over to playing Walter Bishop! I know i've see him in some other roles, just can't remember.

krisq4786d ago

Why didn't he get any award yet for Bishop is beyond me. The range he presents in Fringe is amazing.

I hope in the near future, facial scanning tech is married with real-time motion capture for 100% real performance capture.

Right now, the two seem a little disjointed.

Stealth20k4786d ago

the last thing we need is even more realistic boring real world shit

thats not what gaming is about

gaming is about whimsy and artstyle and different genres and gameplay

if you want 100 percent realistic stuff watch movies or tv

Takoulya4786d ago

So since you find realistic acting in video games "boring real world shit," everyone has to agree with you? Also, how do you know what gaming is about? Are you the guy who invented the concept of it? I wouldn't mind if you said "In my opinion..." but know, you go on and act like you know everything and tell everyone who doesn't agree with you to watch movies or TV instead.

In my opinion, we're already going on a graphical rampage with new tech popping out everywhere. For example, realistic lighting, realistic destruction, realistic physics, and in this case; realistic animations. For a game like L.A. Noire, which seems to be extremely oriented on the story and characters, it's an amazing tech. I'm not saying that I want to have perfect facial animations for Sackboy in LBP anytime soon, but it's great for where it belongs.

Thepro3184786d ago

Y not have photo realism in games.

koehler834786d ago (Edited 4786d ago )

The two can co-exist. You're welcome to like what you like. Don't shit on what I like.

Besides, the technology extends beyond gaming. It would also be beneficial to cinema and television and beyond.

Step back for a minute and take stock of why you only have 1 bubble left.

Perkel4786d ago

go play mario and kirby then there are plenty of them.

Nac4786d ago (Edited 4786d ago )

Wow, God forbid we have a medium that grows and evolves to be something more than it is or what is was originally intended to be. It just goes to show some people are still stuck in archaic ways and don't want games on par with movies and television; some people don't want that level of respect given to this medium. Toys are "whimsy," interactive experiences aren't. Probably the same type of person that would say "if you want story go read a book." God, I can't stand people with that mindset. If you want mindless "fun" go play pong.

They should do a Fringe game like this. Since most episodes are about cases and don't unsual continue from one another.

I don't mean it in the Prison Break/LOST games... changing characters or adding them. Just do cases like LA Noire and have some cases from the show.

It would be pretty good if they could pull it off right. The X files would work as well.

If your going to disagree at least say why.

Takoulya4786d ago

That would be great, but if they keep on adding episodes, it would require us to pay a hefty subscription fee or per-episode payment. I'd rather have a complete game in my hands, you know?

PS: I agreed with you for the great idea.

Lamarthedancer4786d ago

The thing is if the game feels long and is amazing then I wouldn't mind paying for more episodes. As long as it's not to finish the story basicaly making us pay for the ending

Takoulya4786d ago

@Robsonmonkey

Hmm, I guess it's true. If they made it sort of like the Taxidermist DLC for Heavy Rain, it wouldn't be bad at all, as long as there was a lot of content. Either way, I'm looking forward to this game and Agent. It seems like Rockstar's really on a roll with these games + RDR (although I can't really be too sure with Agent as there is no footage released yet).

LA NOIRE 2 modern day La with Cartels, Gangs, modern day investigations techniques .
Choose your path of law inforcement gun slingercop, detective , or even move to police chief. Also bring court rooms let u play as the D.A

DanSolo4786d ago

I think the idea of doing a modern day one could be cool, adding in forensics and maybe how to deal with media assholes ect. And the DA idea could be some cool shit if implemented right.

Personally though I think it should probably be a completely different game... as the NOIRE bit of LA NOIRE kind of implies the setting that it's in and wouldn't make sense for a modern setting.
Nothing to say it is not a good idea to sit alongside the other one though.

Thepro3184786d ago

im buying LA NOIRE but im glad a gamer see where im coming from

Ex-Rockstar Dev Finally Explains Why Small Planes Randomly Crashed in GTA San Andreas

Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.

Profchaos25d ago

This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.

And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened

isarai25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games

Skuletor23d ago

Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor24d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8524d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius24d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius24d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor24d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

Video Game Leaks Suck For Everyone, Gamers Included

Ahmed from eXputer writes "Video game leaks have become a major cause of concern for Triple-A studios, as they're becoming increasingly malicious and dangerous."
