The Media Stomp – Trailer of the Week: Alpha Dog
Jeremy of The Media Stomp wrote, "Trailer of the Week is a new thing I plan on doing which will allow me to help spread the good word on a few movies. I plan on mainly focusing on movies that may not have been viewed by many or that were box office failures, but ended up being awesome! I also plan on picking movies that have decent trailers to represent them.
This week's edition features Alpha Dog. It was released in 2006 and had a decent run at the box office. Reviews for the most part were negative, but one thing was positive about almost every review and that was Justin Timberlake's performance. Most people saw this trailer and immediately dismissed it because of Timberlake. They thought he couldn't act in a serious role and they thought the movie would just end up being about rich white kids trying to act tough and sell drugs. People failed to realize the stunning cast that filled Alpha Dog, mainly, the three leads who are Justin Timberlake, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster. All three bring a different level of emotion to the film. Timberlake manages to be the only one with his head on straight, he's cool and confident and all around likable. Foster plays the lunatic brother who goes nuts when he finds out his brother is missing and Hirsch plays the stuck up, spoiled brat of a drug dealer. They all manage to balance out the film perfectly."
