Homefront patch on PS3 Creating a Frenzy of Angry Reports on Homefront's forums

With all of the updates going on it seems to be creating a frenzy on the Homefront Forums

Yeah I went to the forums quite a bit before deciding to purchase the game [for $28 due to some points I used from GS] Freezing, not being able to join games, splitting up people in parties/lobbies. I'm not sure what the game was like before the patch but as of right now it does not seem so promising.

Then again like some launch titles it may take a while to get this issue straightened out and I have the patience to sit around and wait a few weeks. Hopefully they can fix it cause so far I'm quite liking the game with what little MP I have played thus far.

What patch? I have only gotten one freeze on a menu screen, not even mp....

BLOPS was and is crap but this game is not much better, maybe a little worse and lower graphics also. Don't kid yourself. It could have been a good game and maybe it will be someday. BTW yes there was a patch out a couple days ago.

Just check everyone's ping in the room when you are playing, over half the people only have one bar and the the other half have 2 or maybe 3. The servers suck ass because they are using those crappy GAMESPY servers that IGN owns. The have always been garbage servers and always will.

Yeah, I forgot I set my PS3 to auto download updates.

So, that is why it is freezing.

Im taking this game back today, i bought it friday and haven't gotten to play a single game since.. not even one :(

Everytime i try to join the game type it freezes my console, the only gametype that lets me in a lobby is the ground control but it too freezes when it trys to start the match..

Paid for a game i can't even play wtf, crap thing is i used my redeem codes so i might not even get a full refund

Just played the SP today and I have to say there's good reason for the bad reviews. It was so damn frustrating playing it that I just couldn't take it anymore and I'm sending it back to gamefly ASAP. I'm really happy that I didn't buy this because I was really close to it.

Hmm, what did you find frustrating?
If anything, my complaint is that everything was so linear and straightforward that it might as well have been a movie.

Only part that made me scratch my noggin was near the end when evil goliath shows up. I had no idea that I could shoot flares. =/

Now they just need to fix the 360 version... for some reason whenever i log in with "MY" gamertag it hard locks my system.. the odd point being it's just "MY" gamertag... now thats an odd bug. Seems to be the case on both of my xbox'es one is a older 250 gb model the new on is the Slim...

sitll waiting for a more direct response... I've been all over the forums... and everything they say is generic in regard to the problems...

the only main update they give is about servers....

everything else they have just been saying "we know, we're working on it"

other than that I love the game... they just need to fix it...

I will admit that Xbox live is a premium service and I wish ps3 would offer a platinum account for $50 that allows hardcore fps everyday online gamers more bandwidth or whatever. That being said, in reference to black ops,homefront and many others, i believe that the issue is 75% the Creator. Killzone 3 learned from what it did in 2 and in my opinion there are few if any issues...connection wise. Obviously, there are aspect of k2 that i wish remained but for the most part i love the changes. I wish companies were more specific to us as to why they cannot create a stable online game for the ps3. It can b done, it has been done, cmon. In respect to homefront, it is a profit thing. You get to a point where u have spent alot of money and have to decide, is this worth the time and money to Polish it for 4 months. THQ figured no. We will advertise very hard and get as much cod money as possible. Obviously, they didn't want to wait til fall to release, so it will get what it can and hopefully ppl like the ideas enough to demand a sequel. In that case, they may go all out. It is too bad because it had some great ideas for sp and MP. Unfortunately for so, no one seems to have the balls to break away from cod. They continuously referenced half life and i got excited, but it wasn't to b. I hope crysis 2 is better but the mood right now is revolution. We are looking for a revolutionary fps experience or a solid move. Ill enjoy c2 & i am psyched for b3 & r3, both should b solid, 1 might blow r socks off.

The game never seemed good to me in the first place. Seems to me they just want to grab a hold of the Call of Duty Audience with this title. But the thing is they do a terrible job and whats even sadder is that the game is selling well. Well only in the states to my knowledge cause its the only sales figures that i have seen .

It's the online it's fun and so much better then COD. It's large open battle fields and lots of choices. If they just fix the match making and freezing this game would be awesome.

Don't know about the patch, but before it I had no problems and in Crysis 2 MP demo a guy said he had problems getting in to a game.

I went back to playing Homefront online and didn't have any problems, so I don't know what the deal is.
