I hate to make such a blatant attack against any video game franchise, but the Fable series holds a spot near and dear to my heart. I remember walking into EB Games when the first advertisements for Fable came around, proudly declaring that players would be able to do anything and go just about anywhere; boasting the ability to shape a character's future in ways that no one has ever dreamed of when it comes to player customization and interactivity. It sounded almost too good to be true. A smooth combination of open world combat and questing that would progressively craft a character who reflects the player's choices.
Fable, for all of its faults, was a relative success. Sure it didn't meet many of the promises that were laid out by its developers, nor were a few of the ideas that were supposed to be in the final product ever brought to light, but the fact remains that Fable was a success that would eventually herald a sequel, and that's when things began to make a turn for the worst.
Playground Games is expanding with a third studio to focus on the development of the Fable reboot, aiming for a 2025 release.
Fable 1 and 2 loved it.
Fable 3 unfortunately hit that mark.
Still looking forward for this.
I think this and state of decay 3 is my most anticipated game for the Xbox.
Hopefully it captures the spirit of the original. I didn’t like some changes with 2. I didn’t like 3 at all. Fable 1 was special.
The new trailer seems to have captured some of original magic feel with the giant but I have a feeling it’s going to be another saints row situation. Weird gen Z humor instead of that dry British flavor that made the original special. We’ll see.
2025 is packed with great games like GTA 6 and Death Stranding 2, but I am more excited about the latest entry in the Fable franchise.
Fable and GTA 6 2 blockbuster games that you can only get on xbox. gta 6 will be on ps 6.
Rayan from NoobFeed writes - The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 unveiled several titles that are anticipated to be released soon. Exciting new trailers for games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, State of Decay 3, Gears of War: E-Day, and Doom: The Dark Ages are just a few of the many franchises fans can expect to play soon. While most of us have already watched the showcase, we've decided to pick the top 10 most highly anticipated games.
Perfect Dark trailer looked better than I thought. People are down on Dragon Age or has a mixed response but I have to see gameplay im still hyped for it. People want the big titles. I know AAA guys are closing down studios and doing massive lay offs but ppl need to get excited for PS5 and Series X and still need a reason to buy these consoles. The small AA stuff that Geoff showed off was fine, It's not a reason to pickup consoles, hell even turn on your console for some.
Ranting. Anyway Avowed I'm definitely looking forward to also.
i'll second that. in some ways it seems Fable III took a step backwards from II.
I want him to make Justice and Survivor, the concepts and ideas for those two games were awesome. I would be happy if he made B&W for 360.
I know it a new game every year. MS is always milking their franchises. It really sad. Im glad Sony not like this.
So does COD, Killzone, Uncharted, Halo, and countless others.. Gaming devs are not to innovative to be honest. Same bunch over and over.
This game never caught on with me...
