This past weekend at PAX East 2011, I had the privilege to preview Brink, an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda Softworks. During my preview I discovered very quickly that Brink is a different kind of shooter altogether, as I gracefully maneuvered through the game’s colorful settings and competed with my teammates in highly rewarding mission-based gameplay. I also had the honor of speaking with Ed Stern, Lead Writer for Splash Damage. He provided an amazing overview of the design and inspiration for every aspect of the game. Tune in to see why Brink is transcending the norms of the first-person shooter genre and is arguably going to be the most advanced shooter of this generation.
AAA games get all the attention. But some games get lost in the shuffle. Especially shooters! Make time for these five.
I didnt care for brink. I thought it was going to be like overwatch back in the day.
It’s time to Switch to Brink before taking 12 Orbits around Letters from Whitechapel? That sort of works.
Six years later, and the game is available to anyone who wants it on PC.
There are so many ways that Brink is breaking away from first-person shooters and thinking outside of the box. Other developers need to stand and pay attention because Brink is going to deliver and breathe new life into the genre
Exactly what shooters need a breath of fresh air
Good work man. Asking the important questions.
