WINtA to donate profits to fund sanctuaries for Japanese Quake Children through Save the Children.
We have busy schedules that don’t leave much time for potential. If your game doesn’t wow us within the first 30 minutes, especially when it comes to iPhone titles, it’s tough to remain interested. Case in point, WINtA, a free App from ngmoco and celebrated designer Masaya Matsuura, of Parappa the Rapper fame. On paper, this seems like a legendary pairing. In practice, it’s one of the most boring music titles we’ve played.
Chris Buffa (RunDLC)
Midlife Gamer were lucky enough to catch up with Masaya Matsuura, the mind behind a monochrome rabbit, a rapping dog and a new music game for iPhone called WINtA, the proceeds of which will be going to charity. He talks to us about this latest work of his, why his output has moved away from Sony's platforms, the possibilities of bringing back Vib-Ribbon to modern consoles, why rhythm action games are still in their infancy and how WINtA was inspired by the terrorist bombings of 9/11.
Pocket Gamer:
We got our first look at PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura's new iPhone game WINtA back in October 2009, when he demoed an early version at Nottingham Gamecity.
Now it's been formally announced as the second game in the charity OneBigGame's schedule.
