StrategyInformer: Gray Matter Review
Many of you will remember Jane Jensen – creator of Gray Matter – for the Gabriel Knight series of adventure games if nothing else. Atmospherically moody and convincingly serious, the Knight trilogy solidified their author's reputation as one of the more interesting characters working with the medium, only for her to swiftly disappear from the videogame scene as spiralling costs, declining sales and poor review scores of Gabriel Knight III sealed the fate of her creation. Following a spell writing novels and adapting her earlier work, Jensen returns here with a brand new adventure, a fresh perspective and a project that ran through two dev studios before seeing the light of day. Gray Matter's present-day Oxford setting and magical tone may not be quite what you were expecting, but that isn't to say it's disappointing.
