Crysis 2 for pc demo was locked at DX9, CryEngine 3 has full DX 11 support. Frostbite 2.0 has no DX 9 its only DX 10 and 11 and the Unreal engine 3 is good but is getting old...fast.

Unreal Engine needs to be dumped completely. Textures and lighting have looked the same with minor revisions for years and years.

Make a new engine, Epic.

Frostbite is improving rapidly. Cryengine is nice, but it obviously doesn't scale too well (as evidenced by Crysis on consoles).

Frostbite > CryEngine > Unreal Engine 3.whatever

Well I think that CryEngine3 will scale nicely. They have said that it is compatible with the NGP so I guess it has to be really good at scaling :P

starchild5180d ago

Oh and you know how Frostbite 2 will scale for consoles? The answer is, no, you don't.

Crysis 2 looks great on 360 and is easily one of the best looking games I have seen on a console.

Battlefield 3 is a day 1 buy for me on PC, but we don't have a clue how it will look on consoles. As much as I love the Battlefield games I have to admit that I wasn't that impressed with how they looked or ran on the consoles.

Crysis 2 on consoles utterly destroys the Battlefield games thus far released on consoles. I know Frostbite 2 is a new engine and it might achieve amazing results on consoles, but until we see Battlefield 3 running on consoles we can't say how well the engine will perform on consoles relative to the CryEngine 3, which in my opinion has already proved itself.

Surprise I don’t see the usual suspect blasting anti consumer when Sony raised their price.

I guess they will pop up when Sony do it also lol

gold_drake10d ago

oh trust.

when sony follows suit, a shitstorm is about to happen

SavageFlamingo10d ago

At this point, the whole damn country is being anti-consumer.

Get in there and make it about Sony 👍
