Why 2011 Is The “Year of Sequels”
As you may have read from different publications both in news stands and around the Internet, a lot of writers from the industry are calling 2011 the “Year of Sequels”. With titles like Dragon Age 2, Gears of War 3, Elder Scrolls V, Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Portal 2, Dead Space 2, Batman: Arkham City, Killzone 3 and possibly Modern Warfare 3, just to name a few, it would be more suitable to call 2011 the “Year of Series”. Either way, the next assumption gamers make is developers are simply running out of ideas for new games that are worth the large investment for high profile titles. Although the notion is understandable, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
