Rangers close gap after Celtic lose

John Sutton scored twice as Motherwell condemned Celtic to a shock 2-0 SPL defeat – the Glasgow side's third league loss of the season.

Rangers took full advantage of that upset as they moved to within five points of their Glasgow rivals after enjoying a 4-0 win over a struggling St Johnstone later in the afternoon at Ibrox.
