CVG: FIFA 11 has sold over three million copies in the UK alone - out performing its nearest rival, PES, by almost 10:1. We caught up with FIFA Creative Director Gary Paterson, Scottish ex-pat and Aberdeen fan, to learn about how EA approached FIFA 11, where they felt it succeeded - or failed - and what lessons can be learned for the inevitable announcement of FIFA 12, with expectations higher than ever.
Online support for a number of 2010 EA Sports titles is set to end next month.
NBA Jam ? w00t 0_o Thankfully I don't buy any sports games. I hope they are talking about NBA Jam disc based version not the On fire downloadable one
"The decision to retire older EA titles is never easy." That's also what they said when they shut down the servers for BF2: MC.
I think maybe with the release of pay for your own server on BF3 this is what EA might continue to use for all games giving an option for people who want to play it online.
I'm so sick of EA and all the BS, i'm sick of a lot of publishers anymore.
DSOGaming writes: "This article was inspired by a video that Elias Peppas shared with me. YouTube’s member ‘HelixSnake’ made a compilation of some epic physics fails from Skate 3. And this made us wonder; what could possibly go wrong in a video-game when physics engine go insane? Well, the answer is quite simple. You can get some gay stuff thanks to the Impact Engine of Fifa 12 & 13, spinning cars, boobs that can go up and down, and games with non-existent collisions (yeah, we’re talking about the legendary ‘Big Rigs’ game)."
LOL! That freaking Skate 3 video collection was just amazing... I want that game now...
LOLOL THAT was the funniest thing I've ever seen!!! Especially the Skate 3 compilation!!!
That was good times. Laughed so hard it made me want to search for more.
Go Nintendo - When EA was contacted about FIFA 12 being largely repackaged as FIFA 13 for Wii, here's what a rep had to say.
Go Nintendo seems to be scratching for news here. Sure, it probably is the same game, but what do you expect with Wii?
lol EA repackaging old games into the new version each year?
Wait until the Madden fans find out...oh wait nevermind.
Wow EA and here I actually gave you a little credit for Fifa 13.
Now I feel stupid. How are companies able to just rob people like this? Actually getting away with it being caught red handed also?
Can someone sue these basterds already, charging for online to play in old games, now this? Is this not enough proof they are greedy as shit?
Or am I missing something here?
They probably don't even sell enough copies on wii to justify any major effort. They just release it with an updated roster for those who missed last years or new comers.
Fifa Is & Always Will Be Better Thank PES
Every year they say it's a challenge and were adding this and that, yet every year it's nearly the same game with updated kits and rosters. It's our fault we keep buying a game that could really be updated each year with a patch, but ain't that the same with a lot of games. Don't get me wrong I'll still buy it lol, but just fancied a rant.
I feel they update the engine enough to warrant my money each year.
How to make fifa 12 better isn't hard though.. support their damn product post launch better, LISTEN to their community and they'd already be on a winning way. So many little things that could be changed to make a better football experience. Things that come immediately to mind are:
1: Remove the quit game option from the pause menu online.
2: Have it so that playing players out of position has a significant impact on how they perform.
3: Fix the pressure abuse so that people actually have to defend properly without just holding down pressure.. this includes tweaking the 100/100 defensive tactic.
4: Penalise people with stupid formations which would never work in real life.
Sort these out and I'd be a happy fifa player.
Make sure in this game there is no scripting for online! its stupid! if a team is better then an other they should win!
I prefere PES 2011 over Fifa 11......
