Why No One Will Use The Move With Killzone 3

While the inclusion of Move Support is a nice touch by Guerrilla Games, it probably won't be the main reason people are buying it. Aiming with the Move just isn't the same as aiming with the Dualshock.

Right up until the time Sony puts a few ringer's into online matches who mop the floor with everyone else.

Of course, from what i heard from a PSNation podcast the Move controller is given an actual handicap written for it in the game code.

JBit924970d ago

Personally, I think they should make separate lobbies for Move players if this is the case. If they have a handicap written in for them, it will probably ruin the balance of the game.

-Alpha4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

They can't have a separate lobby because there may not be enough supporters.

I think MOVE should be for Botzone/unranked games/Story, but not for ranked MP.

I'm not aware of their handicap, but I do find that if a player gets good with the Move they tend to kill with ease.

Also, it was designed for the casual in mind, part of GG's efforts to get Killzone more available to the wider audience. So I do think people with the Move will use it, I don't really see why they wouldn't. Seems the #1 complaint is that Move players want more customizable controls.

Dramscus4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

it's quite hard to use at first but after a while yes killing with ease is right. You lose a little bit at close range but it more than makes up for it with aiming at anything past five feat away.

Instead of strafing your character to keep a bead on an enemy. Which I find is the best way with a controller. You can actually track whatever your shooting with the gun.

I personally find it a much more immeresive way to play. The reloading and stabbing motions feel quite natural.
I seem to get into "The Zone" a lot quicker

. The lobbies should probably be separated, though the close range difficulty may make up for the whole thing some. If they were separated I would hope for ranked move only games alongside the regular ranked. Maybe even mixed ranked for people who are confident enough? I suppose all a question of player counts in the end.

KZ3 15 + killstreak

http://www.youtube.com/watc...
this one doesnt even have cross.

there has already has been many screenshots and claims of amazing k/d with Move also.

and people only had KZ3 beta for very little

Sharingan_no_Kakashi4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

This is ridiculous. I've been using Move with KZ3 and I've concluded that when the game comes out I will ONLY use Move. It took awhile to get use to but the end result is undeniably superior. There are some advantages and disadvantages and using it over the DS3 doesnt necessarily give you a leg up. It's superior because of its feel. You have much more control over your aiming at the expense of camera control and melee speed. That being said jabbing does add to the immersion even though tapping square is quicker. And you could still tap square on the move though the button is a little harder to reach than on the DS3.

pixelsword4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

I like how an article guarantees a 100% chance a peripheral won't be used; it's just arrogance in it's purest and most ignorant form.

That goes for Kinect scoffers as well.

nix4970d ago

examiner.. you phail again!

i'm gonna play KZ3 with MOVE because it's freaking great. i know people may love to stick with DS3 but man... it is really really easy once you get a hang of it.

BoneIdle4970d ago

What do you expect from the examiner ffs, of course people will use it and they will also get the sharpshooter and use that as well.

MsmackyM4970d ago

I use it and love it. The controls are smooth and precise but you have to be more than a noob to set them right. If anything I would say DS3 controls are casual because of the ease of use, and simple configurations.

JBit924970d ago

Well if they get good with the move AND it has a handicap they can dominate. I agree though, it should only be for botzone and unranked games.

jack_burt0n4970d ago

No its just plain better in every way, I cant see any possible reason why after the short adjustment time you would want to use anything else.

Ps_alm3k4970d ago

Now i'm not 100% sure because i don't have the full game.

But i'm 1000% sure there is aim assist off in the option menu, for the move.

-Alpha4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

Even if there is, I don't see people turning it off if they just want an easy time. Again, should be for botzone/custom games and not ranked MP.

I think GG said they are turning off aim assist for MP though.

Wh15ky4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

It said on the options menu of the beta that the aim assist will not be available for Multiplayer and on harder difficulty settings.

blusoops4970d ago

The only handicap for move on KZ3 is in single player and on easiest setting. There is no handicap for MP. Even if u have aim assist ON in the beta options, there is no aim assist. The gameplay is the same. I'm not sure who the source is that said there's a handicap in MP, but I won't believe it unless it comes from Guerrila or iWaggle3D.

eterry4970d ago

yeah this is article is wrong because i am a hardcore gamer and i used move and i know alot of other ppl that did too

I was better with the DS3 but i felt more satisfied when i did good with the move. You can simple turn off the aim assist if you don't like it

-Alpha4970d ago

If people have it I don't see why they wont use it either. Sounds like a terrible attempt at flamebait.

This article is more of a random thought that the user decided to share, there's no depth in reason at all.

It reads like this:

"Did you know Move users have aim assist? I don't think anybody will use it. Kthxbai"

Graey4970d ago (Edited 4970d ago )

Personally the author shouldn't make his statement out to be 100% correct.

I suck at FPS on MP. But I love the Killzone games. Also they are some of the only FPS that actually don't make me sick when I play them.

So I have my "Move" ready for next week, but I also am purchasing that gun add-on with the retractable stock and buttons that integrate with the placement of the "Move" and secondary controller.

I'm aware it will be a steep learning curve, but I'm def willing to try. Hopefully the same controls extend to Socom as well.

Guerrilla Games' Multiplayer Horizon Game Could Be Named "Hunters Gathering," Teases Leak

Guerrilla Games' upcoming multiplayer Horizon title could be dubbed "Hunters Gathering," according to a new leak.

Jin_Sakai281d ago (Edited 281d ago )

I wish PlayStation Studios would just stick to what they do best, making great single player games.

Outside_ofthe_Box281d ago

The core gameplay of Horizon is really good, so this is one of the few I can see working out. Also GG does have one of the greatest multiplayer games ever made in Killzone 2 under their belt so MP isn't too far off with what GG does best.

SyntheticForm281d ago

Hell, I enjoyed Shadowfall's MP thoroughly even though it had issues. Guerrilla have delivered solid multiplayer experiences.

Cacabunga280d ago

Oh boy. No idea why they don't want to work on a killzone it's a much more fun multi mode. -

__SteakDeck__280d ago

@Jin_Sakai First. As a business, you don’t just stick to what you do great. If that was the case, Apple would of just done computers and not taken a risk with iTunes and the iPhone. Also have you seen the cost of their AAA games like Spiderman 2? Sony is going to need one of these GAAS games to hit, or expect budget cuts to their SP games. We’re already seeing in the document leak, that they’re asking Insomniac to cut budgets.

Jin_Sakai280d ago

Their studios aren’t masters at GaaS and it’s showing. Naughty Dog wasted all that time and Resources just to cancel Factions and Insomniac's multiplayer Spider-Verse got axed. If Sony really wants a big GaaS hit their best bet would be to acquire EA or Epic Games. You need huge support to keep these games going with content and updates.

purple101281d ago (Edited 281d ago )

OHH GOD YES,, or at least some new shooter. finals was okay but I want more, spesh from 1st party

DaleCooper281d ago

Meh. You know what could be good? A new Killzone.

Magatsuhi281d ago

Hope it's not battle royale.

anast281d ago

It would be better than Monster Hunter, but I'm good with the Gaas stuff.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor506d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar506d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg505d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149505d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138506d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim506d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC506d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138506d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle506d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76506d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM505d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730506d ago (Edited 506d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger505d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca506d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy506d ago (Edited 506d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

potatoseal506d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright506d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.
