CD Projeckt talks The Witcher 2 for consoles

The Witcher 2 is currently in development at CD Project RED for a PC release this May. While the company had originally said in March 2010 that a console version was in the works, the firm downgraded the home platform release to “potential” that October. Today, the developer expands greater on that potential.

From what he is saying, there will be a console version by the end of the year.

***But we’re doing everything we can, I can promise that.***

And that's all we can ask for. I will be playing this on PC day one, but I believe that everyone deserves to have the chance to play great games on their platform of choice when it is possible.

Another PC exclusive lost to consoles. Oh well glad I own a gaming rig and PS3. Get the best of both worlds.

Xfanboy5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

As long no as quality is not lost on PC im fine with it!!
BF3 is not PC exclusive but look @ the what the quality difference will be gameplay wise! huge!!

Crysis 2 dx11 with nvidia quality will be huge!! including dedi servers!

Skyrim is confirmed to have the creation kit released with the game!!

Dragon age uses dx11 this years devs are moving forward not backward!!

dues ex dx11!

I have no worries about anything games!

hoops5243d ago

They can have all the PC games they want as long as they don't kill quality for the PC version in doing so.
So far this has been the trend this generation. PC games have been getting in the rear because of the inferior tech behind the Xbox360 and PS3.
Continue to give loving to the PC please.

BlackKnight5243d ago

Very true, but I have to admit, Crysis 2 and BF3 gives me a little bit of hope for devs to take real advantage of the hardware on PC. Even Deus Ex is supposed to be using many DX11 features, we will see how well though.

visualb5243d ago

if this comes out on the PS3 i'll get it

i cant afford a rig that will play this game in all he glory it deserves to be played in so if a 60 dollar retail version comes up for a PS3 and plays well (and looks good) then hell yeah!

so interested in this series, need to get the first hopefully I can run that =O

DeathMetal14745240d ago (Edited 5240d ago )

I think you will really enjoy it. The one first is not a terribly demanding game, if you have a decent Pc you should be fine. It's very mature and gritty.

maikel195243d ago

Hope they wont cut anything for the consoles........the game looks sweet, like mass effect 2 did!

Apollyn5243d ago

I very much doubt they will cut anything only thing that will suffer is the graphics.

maikel195243d ago

you can never know.....only hope!

bigtrucknd5243d ago

Why is it that other companies can make console ports but these guys can't figure it out. It seems like they are losing out on a huge market to make more money in.

NYC_Gamer5243d ago

they can make console ports just need a major publisher to supply the funds

Apollyn5243d ago

Activision are readying there wallet!

Oh God that would be very very bad

maikel195243d ago

MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!
they need a pub with money!
and right now its atari.....and they dont have MONEY!

Simon_Brezhnev5243d ago

Well im buying it on PC and if it comes out on PS3 i'll buy it again.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - 10 Years of CDPR on Console

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Enhanced Edition debuted on Xbox 360 10 years ago, laying the foundations of CDPR's console releases.

10 years and I'm not sure they've done anything better since...

I take the Witcher 3 over part 2, but Cyberpunk was a disappointment. God I hated Johnny Silverhand so much.
