"A few years ago, at a movie marathon, we watched The Forbidden Planet. That movie was about as campy as a sci-fi piece could possibly be – cheese and bad special effects galore; and yet, there is something appealing about films like that (think: Iron Giant, with its distinct fifties/sixties vibe).
