Take that GamePro review, for example. The guy didn't even bother with the multiplayer. How can you review a game, where the multiplayer is prevalent to anything else, and not even touch the multiplayer?

I'm not saying that the single-player campaign should be ignored, but crap that like that is really agitating. The worst thing is, it doesn't matter in regards to the context of the review. Metacritic will still accept the review at face value. So someone could see that 6 or 7 out of 10 and take it as though the game is mediocre, when in reality the consumer would have no idea that the reviewer didn't even bother giving the game its full credit.

There was another review where the reviewer liked everything but the story, and then gave the game another arbitrary score. Can someone refresh my memory on that one? I can't remember if it was IGN, or someone else.

ToastyMcNibbles4850d ago (Edited 4850d ago )

From what I can remember Gamespot and IGN weren't fans of the story in Killzone 3.. I'm actually surprised because Guerilla stressed an emphasis on story and character development but I guess they fell a little short who knows? None of us have played the game yet to judge but at least they can take that feedback and improve further especially now that they know story and characters are key in a single player experience.. I still watch that "Justice" trailer that was released a little while ago.. it just screams EPIC.. Guerilla definitely improved on the cinematic portion of the game.

multiman4850d ago (Edited 4850d ago )

Although Gametrailers gave it a 94 and said many good things about the Sp. So who knows we can only know for ourselves once we pick it up and play.

Having played the closed beta all I can say is the MP will be amazing, the closed beta gave 3 online levels and they where amazing.

Edit: can someone please tell me why the disagreed with me? What I stated about gametrailers was true and I was explaining my experience with online. So you disagreeing with MY online experience. lol ok.

ToastyMcNibbles4850d ago

Yeah I feel either way the single player is going to be amazing and I'm hooked on the multiplayer just like I was when Killzone 2 was out.. I actually just stopped playing the beta now.. trying to unlock everything for the tactician class.. I wish more people would use that class and use it correctly lol

mp12894850d ago

I still dont get why critics complained about the GT5 menu, so i think they are exaggerating about the story.

ATiElite4850d ago

The majority of these so called reviewers are gonna give KZ3 a low or random score because they all are mad that KZ2 proved them wrong after the media ripped the PS3 and KZ2 for showing CGI for the KZ2 demo back in E3 2005.

They have been hating on Sony and KZ ever sense. We have all seen the trailers and game play footage and without a doubt KZ3 is beyond awesome. Seriously what can compare to what we've been seeing? NOTHING!

last but not least these are the same clowns that gave MW2 and Blops 10's, 9.5, and 98 and MW2 is BROKEN! So pay these Haters no mind KZ3 is the TRUTH!

Spitfire_Riggz4850d ago

Yeah gamespot says killzone 3 has an "awful" story I believe. Its just weird because Guerilla hired the sci-fi story writer and the actors and the amazing music and the focus was on the story... makes me wonder about "awful" and not just mediocre.

"When Killzone 2 came out, the guys at Naughty Dog were kind of, 'okay we're going to outdo them'. Then Uncharted 2 and God of War III came out, and we were looking at that thinking, that looks better than what we had. How can we outdo them yet again? So yeah, we constantly try and one-up each other and that's great because ultimately it benefits the gamer. You get better games because of it."

I love it. There's a sense of rivalry between the studios, but they keep it friendly. I love Guerrilla, Naughty Dog and Insomniac for this exact reason.

P1NKY4850d ago

Same here. Makes all these games better for us. But this trend that seems to be happening with reviewers rating ALL PS3 Exclusives low is starting to piss me off.

It makes me wonder whether these reviewers are either..
Against PS3 and Sony.
Being paid off to give bad scores.
Pro Xbox gamers.

Why can't they review a game for what it is and not who made it.

" I don't think we've seen the end of what's possible on PlayStation 3. There's still more of these things where we can be smarter and better utilise the SPUs. Yes, we're keeping them fully occupied, they're working 100% of the time, but they could be doing smarter things, and that's where the advantage lies."

Confirmed: Playstation 3 to remain the graphics king til the end of this gen and beyond! :D :D :D

Guerrilla Games' Multiplayer Horizon Game Could Be Named "Hunters Gathering," Teases Leak

Guerrilla Games' upcoming multiplayer Horizon title could be dubbed "Hunters Gathering," according to a new leak.

Jin_Sakai152d ago (Edited 152d ago )

I wish PlayStation Studios would just stick to what they do best, making great single player games.

Outside_ofthe_Box152d ago

The core gameplay of Horizon is really good, so this is one of the few I can see working out. Also GG does have one of the greatest multiplayer games ever made in Killzone 2 under their belt so MP isn't too far off with what GG does best.

SyntheticForm152d ago

Hell, I enjoyed Shadowfall's MP thoroughly even though it had issues. Guerrilla have delivered solid multiplayer experiences.

Cacabunga151d ago

Oh boy. No idea why they don't want to work on a killzone it's a much more fun multi mode. -

__SteakDeck__151d ago

@Jin_Sakai First. As a business, you don’t just stick to what you do great. If that was the case, Apple would of just done computers and not taken a risk with iTunes and the iPhone. Also have you seen the cost of their AAA games like Spiderman 2? Sony is going to need one of these GAAS games to hit, or expect budget cuts to their SP games. We’re already seeing in the document leak, that they’re asking Insomniac to cut budgets.

Jin_Sakai151d ago

Their studios aren’t masters at GaaS and it’s showing. Naughty Dog wasted all that time and Resources just to cancel Factions and Insomniac's multiplayer Spider-Verse got axed. If Sony really wants a big GaaS hit their best bet would be to acquire EA or Epic Games. You need huge support to keep these games going with content and updates.

purple101152d ago (Edited 152d ago )

OHH GOD YES,, or at least some new shooter. finals was okay but I want more, spesh from 1st party

DaleCooper152d ago

Meh. You know what could be good? A new Killzone.

Magatsuhi152d ago

Hope it's not battle royale.

anast152d ago

It would be better than Monster Hunter, but I'm good with the Gaas stuff.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor377d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar377d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg377d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149376d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138377d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim377d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC377d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138377d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle377d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76377d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM377d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger377d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca377d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

potatoseal377d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright377d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.
