Getting Tangled with Octodad – Developer Interview
Daniel Wise of The Video Game Writers writes: It’s a tough enough world we live in these days, and it feels like its getting harder as the days go by. Imagine having to raise a family under these conditions. Now, imagine raising a family that has no idea you’re an octopus, and all you want to do is keep working on that thing you’ve been working on in the basement. Octodad is a game that puts you in such a scenario as a 3rd person action game that involves trying to do your fatherly duty as an octopus. Spawned from the minds of students from DePaul University, Octodad brings an innovative (read: bizarrely fun) control scheme that can only make sense in the weird world of Octodad.
Octodad has been gathering steam lately with publicity from outlets such as Kotaku, IGN and G4TV. The team has been busy preparing for the 2011 Game Developer Conference in San Francisco, and I was able to ask them about their recent developments.
