Emulator comes to mind.

I'd just go there and buy the DS version now to get my fix...

HolyOrangeCows5263d ago

I should just buy a copy of Halo 3, Uncharted 2, SMG, and Call of Duty 4 and throw them in a box. Take 'em out in 25 years and (if we haven't been overthrown by communism) sell 'em.

smoothdude5263d ago

There are better ways to invest your money.

multipayer5262d ago

I don't think games with hundreds of sequels are candidates to sell at absurd prices in the future. It has to be awesome obscure stuff.

CrzyFooL5262d ago

It's a collector thing. I have a sealed copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga for Sega Saturn that is easily worth $500+

MWH5262d ago

why did you buy it? what's the point?

Ravenor5262d ago

Clearly you aren't much of a collector of anything.

Zinc5262d ago

To collect it and have it sealed so nobody has ever touched it... there are plenty of items where this is important, as it has to do with the value of the item later on. I don't understand how you can't understand that.

My brother put a down payment on his house with the proceeds from selling ONE THIRD of his comic book collection.

CrzyFooL5262d ago

People collect things, people display things. It's a hobby and a passion. Gamers are no different than people who collect war memorabilia or people who collect stamps or coins. Plus things like this that are truly collectible usually appreciate in value.

skip2mylou5262d ago

collector sports cards come into mind those are worth a lot depending on what you have same with comic books

perhaps my question was a bit bland, i apologize. i meant why would any one buy a classic such as Panzer Dragoon Saga and keep it sealed. now i'm assuming that perhaps you played another copy while kept this one like a bottle of wine. i myself have tons of classic games all the way from the 80's but none which i didn't use.

@Ravenor
clearly you're used to fish in murky waters, change your name to "bottom feeder".

Dan505262d ago

You can get it for the DS now for cheap. :)

Slashbee5262d ago

Not surprising at all, a sealed Earthbound is most likely worth more still though.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Levii_9248d ago

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

LG_Fox_Brazil47d ago

That's a pretty fucking great list

__y2jb47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

I want a full on 3d remake but I suppose HD2D is fine.

Snookies1255d ago

So many people want HD2D, but I agree 100%. Chrono Trigger is in my top 3 of all-time. I want to see what this could be like re-imagined in full 3D. The sprites look good enough in the original, in my opinion. What would be amazing, is if they just went for both haha. Give us the HD2D to tide us over while they work on the full remake.

darthv7255d ago

I'd imagine it would be something like... chrono cross

goken55d ago

I am hoping a modern AAA return…

Chard54d ago (Edited 54d ago )

I'm still skeptical of HD-2D, and still want them to fix remaining foibles in the current Steam version. At any rate I've been seeing online that this rumour has been debunked

Knightofelemia54d ago

I would jump for a remake of Chrono Trigger then hopefully a remake of Chrono Cross. I wish Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy also got a remake or a remaster.

jznrpg53d ago

Yes to Xenogears and Xenosaga!

jznrpg54d ago

I am surprised it hasn’t been done already. It’s widely considered as one of the best RPGs all time. I’ll take it for sure. I want a Vagrant Story remake as well
