Nah man, every PS3 exclusive surpases the hype and then some!!!!!!!!!!!!
/s
Last year the hype machine told me AVP3 was going to be amazing, that BFBC2 was going the be the best thing since sliced bread among many others. As the layers of B.S stripped away I realised that half the games I had on my 'to buy' list were going to be crap, the ones I bought...were also disappointing.
Why don't they just announce the game 6 months before launch? no B.S just gameplay info then BAM!
you my friend may need to purchase outside the over saturated and under designed fps market. There are many satisfying games of other genres. I'm sure you know this and I'm preaching to the quire but worthwhile purchases are out there.
Just do some thorough research before purchasing and remember that no matter what the hype says about a game at the end of the day a games just a game. It's not going to change the world no matter how good it is.
George Broussard was fat loser with a stupid sense of humor, and the only reason it was funny back in the early 90's was because it hadn't been done before and it wasn't politically correct. Nostalgia warps peoples judgement of this game.
Broussard created Duke because Duke was everything he was not. And the game is his interpretation of what is 'cool'.
DNF is a muddled cobbling together of 1990's source material and Duke should have been euthanized years ago.
exactly, anyone who is expecting this to live up to a 13 year hype really needs to wise up. But at the end of the day its Duke Nukem and a proper one since Duke 3D and i personally cant wait !
I actually don't think that this game has too much hype behind it because most of the people waiting for it are old duke fans from the 90's and they know exactly what they're getting with this game. They've waited this long and now it's only curiosity and a huge amount of duke nukem love that will drive sales of this game. i actually believe that this could be the sleeper hit fps of the year.
What hype? There aren't any trailers being released, and the only bit of gameplay shown is what was done at PAX and I think it was shown in Europe.
You can't take it's long development cycle as an indication of quality. Perhaps there is a reason they couldn't come up with something worth putting on shelves for all those years, and that reason is never good.
I played it at PAX, and basing my expectations off of that I am very excited to finally buy the game. Gearbox makes good games, and has some deep connections to Duke. There is nobody else that I would rather take on finishing this game.
There's actually a new trailer up that was released last week that shows a piss load (pun intended) of gameplay. Go to http://www.gamersyde.com to d/l the hd version
From what I've heard about this game people will be disppointed. At least if they think the game will be next gen. It won't compare to games coming out now. If they just want a sequel to the last Duke Nukem game then I guess they'll be happy.
short answer, no. Long answer, nnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo o oooooooooooooooooooooo
So much hate for America. Mm-mm. We must be doing something right. "...maybe I have to be American to enjoy all these FPSs." I see this kind of stereotype alot. If it were not for America, you may not be on this web site. Heck, you probably wouldn't even have video games.
I dont think it will live up to the hype but i plan on it being a solod game that reminds me of old 486 computers and shooting weird looking space aliens on the white house lawn.
"Who want a Some wang" another game that was fun and i believe made by the same people.
How could ne game live up to the expectations of such a huge fanbase after 12 years of waiting? Good news is it just might b a great game regardless of the hype factor
Well, if you compare Duke Nukem Forever to Duke Nukem 3D, yes, it will live up to the hype. Problem is, these days people want more than mindless shooters like Serious Sam. Back in the day, I'm saying early-to-mid 90s, most of the people on here were still in elementary school or diapers. They comment on a game they don't even know the history of. I think Duke Nukem Forever will live up to the hype if you grew up in the age of DN3D. I wish all these noobs would give more respect to the games of yester-year.
Nothing ever lives up to the hype.
theres hype left after 12 years?!
Probably not, but should still be great fun and worth the price of admission.

*can't believe I just typed that...*
