just got me the official bluetooth v2 by sony, its pretty sweet for voice chat,im gonna get the turtle beach px5s when they come out

ECM0NEY5209d ago (Edited 5209d ago )

I just got the v2 as well. Havent really tried it out to much bc it has only worked once with DC Universe. They need to fix the mic issues on ps3, if they dont people will be leaving in droves.

Call_me_Ishmael5209d ago

yep, agreed the mic sometimes fades out a little bit but that only happened to me a couple of times

kneon5208d ago

is this a DCU specific issue? I've never had any problems with any other games.

mcstorm5209d ago

I just got a SE Blutooth head set and Ive not had any problems with it since I got it 2 years ago and it was half the price of the PS3 head set. But I have the official 360 wireless headset and it has been far better than any 3rd party headset ive used so I can Imagen the PS3 official head set being just as good.

My wife bought me the RocketFish Blu Tooth for X-mas by mistake. I felt all bad for wanting to return it and decided to keep it and so far, so good. Sound quality is decent and people can hear me, so I have no complaints.

Once they fix the major voice chat issues with DCU i will get a new headset cause i dont like the war hawk one very much

R_aVe_N5209d ago

The only real problem with this headset is the part that goes around your ear. I am always afraid that I am going to break it. Other than that the mic is top notch.

Feels so weird seeing updates for the PS3 in 2025.

Amplitude54d ago

The only reason they do it is to give very tiny inconveniences to the modding community. I'm surprised they even still bother. They haven't even done this to the Vita in quite a while

fsfsxii54d ago

The update is for Bluray drive keys, to keep them functioning. the system is cracked wide open by hackers since ages ago, it wouldnt make sense to cover exploits on a retired system.

Chocoburger54d ago

It needs updates for Blu-ray keys in order to watch newer movies. But also likely security updates as well.

Amplitude51d ago

oh word my bad. Makes sense

I love my multiple phat backwards compatible 60gb ps3s.

jznrpg54d ago

I have 2 and love them as well. I had the shell of one of them refinished so one is nice and shiny.

Dagexon54d ago

I found one in a charity shop for 40 quid (best find ever!) I fell in love and got another. My first one got nicked and got a replacement so I still have 2.

My original launch day "phat" PS3 is still part of my entertainment center and running like it was new, I've never had a game system last this long. It's had no repairs whatsoever except for taking it apart a couple of times to clean out the dust but of course I had to upgrade the HDD from it's original capacity. I've got a handful of games that I still break out and play every once in a while on it.

DivineHand12554d ago (Edited 54d ago )

Why would anyone continue to update their PS3 in 2025?

My old PS4 has been disconnected from the Internet since 2020. If I keep it I can mod it and if I sell it, it will have a higher value.

gold_drake54d ago

i still play my ps3 and download games.

so ... yeh.

badz14954d ago

me too. there were lots of gems on the PS3 I think I want to play that I didn't get the time to play before. plus the used games are dirt cheap now. good luck finding Deadpool though haha. that game and its PS4 port are worth more than gold now.

RedDevils53d ago

You can still play online with it.

Kassanova0754d ago

It's for Blue Ray movie playback.
