It's true, I am not going to lie. I have been stuck on the loading screen while trying to play with friends. I assume Mm will take care of it very soon, I trust them. It also doesn't happen all the time, I have experienced it a couple times tho.

Bear_Grylls4885d ago

Nice level headed HONEST comment.

Unlike JohnnyHalo below but hey haters gonna hate and with a name like that no surprise.

+ bubs

Nitrowolf24885d ago (Edited 4885d ago )

It happened in The beta to, but MM fixed it real fast. I am betting it has to do with all the people and such.
It's hard to get a good game going with over 2 friends, but i am sure MM will have it fixed soon. Other then that Single player/ online alone works just fine. Still a great game

btw does anyone know if MM going to port all the LBP2 beta levels? They did it for LBP1 when that game came out with the beta. There were some really amazing levels i would hate for them to go to waste.

DORMIN4885d ago (Edited 4885d ago )

No joke, Turn off your controller until it loads. No clue why it works, but it does.

Hopefully they will patch this soon. Now if you will excuse me, i'm going back to the Dreamscape. :D

EDIT: Make sure your turning off your controller through the PS button and when the loading bar is tweaking out.

Nitrowolf24885d ago (Edited 4885d ago )

@Dormin, I have tried that already
It stops loading then goes into play mode and tells me to push the button again then it begins loading again. It works for some people i think

btw didn't disagree with

Pixel_Enemy4885d ago

When you are playing WITH FRIENDS and you are stuck on a load screen, simply have the host kick you by pressing start and managing friends. Once you are kicked it puts you back in your pod and you can join again. It is the quickest solution, much better than rebooting your console lol

dead_eye4885d ago

Can't you just press circle to back out of the load screen. This used to happen alot on little big planet 1 but never crashed the system.

ExplosionSauce4884d ago (Edited 4884d ago )

Also, I think it happens to whoever joins in.
My friend joined me and the infinite loading screen came up a couple times for him.
Then he invited me and it started happening to me.

Hope this gets fixed soon cause being online with friends in LBP is one of the best things ever.

Doesn't this happen to a lot of games in the first few days though? GT5 had problems with it's online in the first few days, then they sorted the servers out. Warhawk had the same issue. I think they just test how many people might be using it and if more then expected play it then they just upgrade the server. Mm are bound to fix this soon

thor4885d ago

It's nothing to do with them doing ANYTHING or sorting ANYTHING out.

It's simply a matter of volume of people trying to get at the servers. It's very difficult to manage that many connections all at once.

Once the number of people playing goes down the servers will be able to cope. No magic fix. Sure they will try to do something but the main problem is volume of traffic. There's no point in buying extra servers just for the 1st week of heavy traffic.

You're right to say that this happens to a lot of games, though. In fact I laugh and laugh when people have a go at big companies who make a "laggy" game with "connection issues", pointing out an indie game "without problems". They have no idea of the difference in scale required for something like Call of Duty.

DORMIN4885d ago

Practically EVERY game experiences online problems at launch.

P1NKY4885d ago

The Developers of Call of Duty should know by now considering every single one of their games has millions of people playing in the first week and many months after that. So why don't they buy some more servers to cope when they already know the amount of people who will be playing. I'm pretty sure they sell enough copies of Call of Duty to justify buying some servers to cope with the amount of players.

thor4885d ago

@P1NKY

I was illustrating that it's a difference in scale and difficulty. It's like saying "hey how come NASA botched the challenger mission I've made plenty of water rockets and every one has worked." Saying that they should "know by now" doesn't make the problem any easier. It's more complicated than just buying more servers. Your average developer wouldn't be able to do a better job - in fact your average developer doesn't have to deal with such problems.

When I get stuck on a loading screen it takes so long. It takes less time to quit and restart the game than it does to wait it out.

I'm lucky to have someone even allow me to join and when they do, I just get stuck on a loading screen. I had trouble connecting to people in LBP1 when it first came out and MM fixed it pretty quickly.

Nitrowolf24885d ago

I hate that loading screen. idk why t does that but when you turn your PS controller off it seems to stop and go into the game. But you are then prompted to push the button again and then for some reason it has to load

TheDeadMetalhead4885d ago (Edited 4885d ago )

The servers are probably just under too heavy a load. Especially if it's only happening in multiplayer. I'm sure it won't take long to fix.

xX-StolenSoul-Xx4885d ago

Little big planet loads slow on large/complex Levels. If you have faster internet like me *100Mbs* it will load really fast

GiantJedi4885d ago

There was a lot of loading problems in the first, so far the loading in 2 for me is pretty good.

mushroomwig4885d ago

True, I remember similar problems in the first game, nothing serious though and the majority of the problem was fixed soon after.

Spitfire_Riggz4885d ago

Well its usually if you only play with one other person, but getting a game of 4 different people going is tough. 2 players on one account and another 2 on an account seems to be better.

Hope it gets fixed soon. I'm getting my copy tommorow.

itani4885d ago

I don't know if I should get this or Mass Effect 2 first.........

mrv3214885d ago

I'm sure someone already built Mass Effect 2 in LBP2.

An update on the LittleBigPlanet server and online services

Classic LittleBigPlanet servers are to be shut down permanently following hacks.
Sony’s drastic move comes after months of downtime for the older games.

darthv72996d ago

It was fun while it lasted. And some of the user created stuff was a blast to play with.

Snookies12996d ago

Whaaa-? That's crazy. Didn't expect it to be permanently shut down...

Teflon02996d ago

It's still up on PS4, they just shut down the PS3 end because hackers on PS3 can't be stopped and go on the game making announcements that can't be avoided without having to go back to all the old game codes and updating to remove the feature etc. It's one of those sad and garbage things where hackers ruined a good thing. I'm mostly sad about the Vita, I'm not sure if I have my music stages saved to my Vita, meaning they're gone forever if I didn't save them back to it. They were good too :(

Profchaos996d ago (Edited 996d ago )

Have to say I expected them to be permanently shut down problem would be in the underlying server architecture and possibly something like a depricated authentication protocol which has to be replaced that the PS3, PSP and vita can't support which is why they can't be securely restored on those consoles but the PS4 does support it.so lbp3 was restored on that.

Given the attackers were able to breach the server there was obviously a fear of lateral movement once inside their servers so I can't blame them for this and it makes sense despite the huge blow to the community millions of hours spent building that community.

Despite this blow I believe the millions of creations are going to be available via lbp3 and it's capability of backwards compatibility with user generated content so that's something to be thankful for still not a huge consolation to the many players who only own a older console but unfortunately that's the world we live in these games are old the older they get the more insecure the servers get which the company that make them.host them on and the more likely they need to be shut down.

Understandable they had to do this better to be safe then sorry. I just wish those right wing racists that hacked the servers and started posting homophobic slurs would get want they deserve a good few decades in prison.

Profchaos996d ago (Edited 996d ago )

That's the thing I guess if it wasn't them it would just be someone else and we would still be in this position regardless of their intent.

darthv72996d ago

What are you going on about?

Profchaos996d ago

The attackers breached and manipulated the servers to place abusive messages all over the game ccontent https://www.ruetir.com/2021...
