Resolution's Jennifer Allen writes: I was surprised by how much I liked CrimeCraft and its expansion pack Bleedout. That sounds terribly judgemental of me doesn’t it? I’ve been burned by free to play MMOs before though. It makes me wary of any new title in the never-ending swarm of them. In CrimeCraft’s case admittedly it’s not strictly an MMO, instead it’s a persistent World Next-gen Shooter (PWNS. How cool an acronym is that?) which makes all the difference. Once upon a time it would have cost money to buy it which would have made CrimeCraft a much less attractive proposition. Now though, it’s mostly free and other episodes can be bought with gold bars acquired from within the game. It’s a little confusing as it’s poorly explained on the support website but just stick to the idea that at its most basic it’s free. However, after the first episode, you have to pay a small sum to acquire more. You can also subscribe if you want to gain some other bits and bobs.
