Someone's email, possibly fudged anyway, is not news. I'm sure it will be announced by an official quote in due time. Also, use the original title next time.

Email Activison yourselves if your skeptical. See what you get.

Echo3075273d ago

Did people actually think this was about to happen? That Activision/their developers were about to turn their backs on millions of paying customers?

Morons.

Op245273d ago

apparently since those other articles or whatever gained 700 degrees

thereapersson5273d ago

He stated pretty much the exact same scenario:

Tyler Durden5273d ago

Well after Koticks stupid comment on how they might stop supporting ps3 if sony did not have a price drop, yeah u can expect anything from such a creatively bankrupt company.

awesomeperson5273d ago

@nick

The article wasn't saying it WOULD get shut down, the article was saying it was an OPTION and if the need ever arose, it could be taken.

I wouldn't care in the slightest if they were shut down, hell I'ld be happy to draw friends who are pretty much hypnotised by COD. I asked them if they were getting ME2, LBP2 or even Killzone 3, one of them was like "Naa all I need is COD".

Seriously.

@thereap

I lol'd such an accurate statement.

It wasn't taken out of context at all, the article clearly stated that the activision employee stated that they COULD take down the PSN servers, not that they would. Like i said in the other article though, i couldn't care less tbh.

mp12895273d ago

black ops is old, and believe it or not most ps3 owners don't care for it.

guigsy5273d ago

Course they don't, apart from the fact that hundreds of thousands of people play the game each day. I bet it's the most played game on PSN at the moment.

xstation795273d ago (Edited 5273d ago )

mp1289...So I guess you know over 20 million people then.

Op245273d ago

well you all know people on N4G so I just did this so we wouldn't get a phenomenon of stories about Black Ops Shutting down cause I don wanna hear about it either every day. So hopefully this clears it up

ChristianGamer5273d ago

You people need to realise when MS say COD is best played on 360, they aren't kidding around. This is just one epic saga lol.

The_Claw5273d ago

of coarse they're not going to shut down the servers. HELLO they got to make those millions off the DLC first.

toaster5273d ago

WOW The entire site is Flash based :| wtf. Dear titan reviews, get a better web designer.

MGRogue20175273d ago (Edited 5273d ago )

Of course.

Shutting 'em down would be a very stupid thing to do.. and would conjure lots of hate & criticism towards Activision.. as well as Treyarch. Shit will literally hit the fan.

While i appreciate the gesture.... all of these retro classics have been made available everywhere else. I am hoping to see some other Activision properties make their way out of the shackles of the 5th, 6th and 7th gen. Licensing be damned... bring back the Transformers Cybertron games.

P_Bomb36d ago

Love the Cybertron games! TF games have been shit lately. Would love to see that era revisited. I even did the multiplayer!

MrBaskerville36d ago

Is the retro classics for all consoles?

Obscure_Observer36d ago

Metaphor on Gamepass just announced! O.o

Seriously, this is the best generation of Xbox ever!!!

We can´t catch a freaking break from awesome games arriving all the time!!!

Deathdeliverer36d ago

It’s a HELL of a game. If you like JRPGs in the family of Persona, you will be in heaven… that is until you hear the various battle music…. then you’ll be somewhere BEYOND heaven!

babadivad35d ago

Just finished Clair Obscur. This should be fun.

Only a big company that has interest in gaming like Microsoft or Tencent could have acquired Activision. Extremely low interest rates at that time certainly helped.

Not exactly sure that a merger with EA would’ve benefited any of their franchises or gamers. I imagine it would’ve been like the activision blizzard one were each publisher retains their own identity. So Activison-Blizzard-EA. But who knows.

fsfsxii134d ago

If it was owned by EA, COD could’ve disappeared a looong time ago. They have no clue how to manage franchises.

Gamingsince1981120d ago

It's a shame EA didn't buy them then, COD should die, it's past its prime and has been since black ops 2, I started playing it when cod 4 mw first came out and it has been downhill since.

SoloGamer1133d ago

thank goodness we dodged that landmine 😒
