$60 dollars, LBP2 vs ME 2: Which one will you choose?

Two of the biggest sequels are released today. Now if every gamer lived in a perfect world, all gamers would be able to enjoy every great game on the day 1 release. However, not all gamers have $120 dollars to shell out in one day ( Top ramen is a main entree for dinner when weeks get rough from buying special editions or that accessory you needed to better your gaming library or expense). So the big debate has arrived, if you only had $60 dollars to spend, and you wanted to get a brand new game you could enjoy on the day 1 release, which game would you choose? Tag along to see this what game is worth buying on Day 1.

... I'm a patient guy. I can wait till both games hit the 30 bucks mark.

I would have paid 80 euro for LBP2 if Sony hadn't decided to screw us European gamers over with the whole CE-drama, but now I'll just wait till there's a GOTY edition coming out some day with all DLC included, at which point I'll buy it.

the thread pic is full of WIN :)

Redrum0594995d ago

i like working over-time for the extra cash, so baught both today, to hell with choosing ;)

PS3pwnsyou4995d ago

This is an extremely tough decision for me lol, LBP1 has been the best game of this gen in my opinion but ironically the problem of LBP is that it's TOO ADDICTIVE. I spent around 100 hours making my masterpiece a few months ago!

But Mass Effect 2 is an RPG so crap I think I'm gonna play a lot anyway xD

VictimOfHypocrisy4995d ago (Edited 4995d ago )

BB is have a 3 for 2 deal this week so I am picking up both today. Would've yesterday but we had ice rain and the roads were bad. All clear today. Cant wait!

I am either going to choose ACBH or NFS:HP for my third title. If only Dead Space 2 was released this week.

TheLastGuardian4995d ago

Played the demo for both. Went with the LBP2 CE. I knew ever since it was announced that I was going to buy the sequel to one of my favorite PS3 games. ME2 can wait til a price drop.

Shani4995d ago

lol.. funny pic.

As per my choice, I had my $80 on LBP2 CE before ME2 announced for PS3. I can wait for ME2. But for LBP2, I can't.

And it was either a new TV and renting the two, then purchasing later, or buying them both with Dead space 2 right away. I went with the first option. Both titles have tons of longevity, so I'm not worried about not getting them on launch.

Should be here tomorrow, and can't wait. It's gonna be a long day at work waiting

AntoineDcoolette4996d ago

I concur. I'm strapped for cash and chose Dead Space 2. I'll wait for $20-30 on LBP2 and ME2

beardpapa4996d ago

neither. I've played ME2+DLC already and LBP1 didn't really appeal to me. For $60, I'd pick up DCUO.

-Ikon-4996d ago

I choose DCUO. And I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I'm swapping Black Ops and AC Brotherhood for LBP2 and I'm using my £20 gift card to go halfers with my bro on Mass Effect 2.

Dark_Vendetta4995d ago

It seems Sony tries to promote LBP in Europe (at least in Germany) as you can get the game at about 35€. That's quite good in my opinion. This way I got both games for 75€, so no need for me to choose :)

mandf4996d ago

Both, but if I had to choose LBP2 would be my choice.

Focker4204996d ago

I currently have both sitting on my shelf, but ME2 hasn't been opened yet. Sackboy has had my full attention all day.

danmachine4995d ago (Edited 4995d ago )

well.. not your FULL attention since you are on N4G.

i'm getting The SLY collection today.

kneon4995d ago

Both, eventually. I've already got my LBP2 collectors edition. There is no rush to get ME2, I've played ME1 and thought it was ok, but not the masterpiece many claim it to be.

I can afford it now, I'm just not that pumped up about it, so I'll get it when there is nothing else new to play. But with the list of games coming up this year it may be 2013 before I get it :)

wolfceek4996d ago

I bought lbp2. I have a 360 and me2 is about 15 bucks used

badboy8084996d ago

LBP2 because im gonna recreate every xbox live game.

badboy8084996d ago

Not meant to be funnny im serious my first game will be limbo.

N311V4996d ago

@ badboy808

I believe that you're serious but again made me laugh. Not that I doubt your ability to do it but just because it was something that will happen I hadn't thought of.

When I get this I'll be sure to look for your creations.

AntoineDcoolette4996d ago

Now that you mention it, I really wish Limbo was on PSN.

Hitman07694996d ago

@badboy i think somebody already did limbo if i'm not mistaken, or at least started the concept for it. that's epic tho i'll definitely look for ya on there too. what's your PSN ID?

oh btw I want to get both, gonna get LBP2 and hope some1 i know gets ME2!!!! Otherwise ME2 will be a slightly late purchase.

Biggest4996d ago

Yeah. I remember seeing "Limbo" on LBP already. But I bet someone will make an even more accurate version with LBP2.

Buy LBP2 and play the 60 min trial of ME2 on playstation plus. Then of course buy ME2 when it is down to a more reasonable price.

Focker4204996d ago

I was shocked to see the full game trial for ME2 on PS+ today. Normally its just older games, hopefully they start doing this with alot more of the new releases. It would be more than welcome.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave170d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan170d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave170d ago (Edited 170d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
