Top Selling Games of 2010 (Multi, Wii, PS3, PSP, DS, X360)

Software figures for 2010 have arrived. It was an amazing year - 17 games available on one or more video game platforms sold over 5 million (henceforth 5m) units. Nintendo, Activision, Take Two, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Square-Enix and Electronic Arts all produced 5m level hits - and Sony, Ubisoft and others just missed. Below you'll find the biggest multiplatform hits of 2010, as well as the top Wii, PS3, X360, DS, and PSP hits.

Final fantasy sold 4.5 million on ps3 alone according to them, but they have it at 4.4 total and only 2.7 on the ps3 chart. What gives? Is it because the Japanese version released last year? If so then WOW, didn't realise how few people bought the game compared to Japan

PS3 numbers are 2-3 millions lower than Sony's official numbers, but xbox's numbers are same as MS's numbers.

Apparently, Kinetic adventures sold more copies than there are units of Kinetic on the market. I guess the average Kinect owner buys 3 copies on Kinect adventures.

the only sales figures that should be allowed, should be the official releases buy the platform holders. whether sold to retailers or sold to customers, they know more than vgchartz, gamers and fanboys.

The gaming industry has really blossomed this gen.
Last gen, ps2 had 15 games cross the 5million mark. This gen, with less than half the lifespan and just over a 3rd of the install base, x360 has 12 games over the 5 million mark.
X360 still maintains the highest ATTACH RATE in history with 9 games sold per console, 10 in the Americas
PS3 has 7 games per console, 9 in the Americas
Americas has the highest attach rates. Those people love to buy games!
Here's a funny fact, in Japan, the X360 is the ONLY console with an attach rate of 5 and above. Lol.
With a attach rate of 6.43 in Europe vs PS3's 6.23, Xbox 360 players buy more games per console than any other console owner in all regions.

Exclusives are a dud since the PS3 has more and superior ones at that
The online is a dud since despite the higher price you aren't receiving dedicated servers

Now it's attach rates in a couple months we'll see

there is indeed some games that have dedicated servers on live.. i dont know where you got the idea that there was none.

but given the high player counts of resistance, warhawk and socom...they are needed.

and know kz2 doesnt have them, coz i've been in games when the creator host has left and shut down the game.

Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Katy Perry, Full House (sitcoms in general), Keeping Up with the Kardashians (same as most reality TV), Us Weekly, Dane Cook, Sam Kinison, Vin Diesel, Movies based on SNL sketches, movies starring pro wrestlers, and the idea that owning more than ten guns is a person's civic duty.

Yeah because PC gamers are the worst. Minecraft a game which has NO DRM has sold 1 million.

Also PC pirates rarely influence sales, most of the time PC pirates steal a game because there is no demo, stupid DRM or DLC in the kilobites. PC gamers buy games, starraft 2 for example... World of Warcraft, Half Life, Battlefield.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 should be higher on that list. Even before the Vietnam pack it had better multiplayer than Black Ops.

PSP might be selling bucket loads of consoles but that's certainly not refleted in those game sales. Looks like pirates won that battle.
