"‘Streamlined’ has many different meanings depending on context. In the office, ‘streamlining’ means ‘start sending out your resume’. When referring to a car, ‘streamlined’ can be interpreted roughly as ‘looks like a phallus’. In reading reviews of Civilization V, streamlined is a word that will be seen a lot, and in the context of video games, this means pared-down features and a Cliff’s Notes-type experience."
Civilization V continues to be one of the most popular grand-strategy games you can play on Steam, for about three years.
Love strategy but your processor and graphics card doesn't love you? The best strategy games for low-end PCs have you covered.

When I was a kid, I played a lot of Civilization 2. I played a lot of strategy games in general, but having a deep love of both history and sci-fi, the epic sweep of Civ 2 from prehistory to the stars held a particular appeal. I loved taking my little people from their huts and ziggurats to the world of science and advanced space-flight.
I had CIV IV and didn't like it as much as some other games like Caesar III, so I decided to pass on this one... but I may pick it up eventually. Just sooo many games and so little time!
I didn't like Civ 4 too much either, mainly because I never felt like anything I did meant anything. Age of Empires and the like at least throw a story mode at you. I kind of want to give 5 a shot though, despite all that...
This might just be my first foray into the "Civ" world.
