Edge: Who’s That Flying?! Review

Edge: It's unfortunate that Who’s That Flying?! forces players to trudge through its prosaic story mode. Other than a bullet-hell highlight six levels in, Mediatonic’s shooter doesn’t get going until the game’s fourth chapter of its total five. The concept is interesting enough: cast as Earth, the superhero guardian of his planetary namesake, players must prevent the invading Ravagers from making it to the left side of the screen, at which point they become free to attack the city that themes each stage. At Earth’s disposal is his arm-mounted laser and invincibility: enemies can’t harm him, and he’ll tear most in two if he's close enough.
