There’s a certain formula needed to create a successful roguelike title, this formula has been used since the mid-eighties and hasn’t changed much over time. With simple tile graphics, random map configurations and loot drops, roguelikes are easy to craft, yet difficult to perfect. Fans of the genre will find the roguelike formula put to surprisingly good use with the indie game Epic Dungeon for the Xbox 360.
