PS3 Mamoru-kun Date Set (Japan)

Andriasang: CyberFront announced today a final release date of March 31 for the PlayStation 3 version of arcade shooter Mamoru Has Been Cursed (Mamoru-kun wa Nowareteshimatta). The game will be priced ¥6,279 in standard form and ¥8,925 in limited edition form.

UFO Interactive teasing Mamoru-kun localization

Gematsu - UFO Interactive is teasing a western localization for CyberFront shoot ‘em up Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta! Meikai Katsugeki Wide Version.

The game was initially released in Japan for Xbox 360 in 2009 as Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!, and added the Meikai Katsugeki Wide Version subtitle for the enhanced PlayStation 3 version in 2011.

Games Are Evil Import Review: Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!

Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta was originally released to Japanese arcades on the NAOMI arcade hardware. Now, this unusual shoot-em-up with a mouthful of a title (translated literally as Little Mamoru Got Cursed!) finally comes to the PS3 with new enhancements to boot. The first disc-release shoot-em-up title for the PS3, it currently has very little competition on the region-free console. But is it a worthwhile import purchase? Fans of shoot-em-up titles that are in the mood for something a bit different, should certainly give Mamoru-kun a look.
