Crash Bandicoot reboot on its way?

A reboot is what the series needs. If Naughty Dog bought back the rights and made a PS3 crash games that are like the first 3, that would be a dream come true. I'd also love to see a Crash Bandicoot Collection of 1-3 and CTR.

If we ever want the old Crash back, first things first, Activision has got to go. Sony should publish and ND should develop.

I can't believe how the series went downhill ever since Crash Bash, at least The Wrath of Cortex was decent, but then, ouch.

Reaching 105% in Crash Bandicoot 3 was so satisfying, it was a really challenging game.
Now if developers are only aiming for kids with a new CB game, it will certainly not be what many fans would wish for.

Naughty Dog should do what Insomniac does and have 2 seperate development teams. The older members of Naughty Dog would make up one team and they could buy back the rights to Crash and make a few Crash and Jak games before the end of PS3's life cycle. The newer members of Naughty Dog would make up the other team and they could work on Uncharted games.

Sucker Punch should do the same thing so they can make a Sly game and an inFAMOUS game every other year. Then 3 of Sony's best 1st party devs could both have a platforming series for the current generation and keep making Uncharted, inFAMOUS and Resistance games. I want the old platforming trio back.

If so, give it to Naughty Dog and do it PS1 style: PLATFORMER, not some halfassed platformer/racer game (tag team racing) or some game with a fighting system (titans and mutants), but back to its roots for awesomeness.

With the Wrath of Cortex as an exception, Crash Bandicoot died when Naughty Dog sold him. Crash should never have gone multiplatform, back in the 90s, I and many others considered him as the Playstation's mascot.

I hope so, and i'd rather ND did it, but all they have to do is go back to the roots of the series. 5 warp rooms, 5 levels in each all with kick ass platforming and some of the most interesting boss battles this side of Metal Gear. These games were my childhood, and I can't bear to see the series degrade anymore than it already has. (If that is possible?)

i just finished CB2 and 3 and God i'd be so happy if this reebot actually delivers.

but still that's not so likely considering NeverSoft is gonna make it(tony hawk franchise) and activison behind it.

CB1 was decent,it was 1st Crash
CB2 my fav game in franchise it added new moves and better running animations etc...
CB3 awesome but little worse than CB2 because i didnt like playing with planes and Coco that much.

Personally I think Crash's time has passed. It was great back in the day, me and my friend spent hours glued to the couch cranking Crash Bandicoot 2, but that was the, this is now. Developers should be trying new things rather then dragging up old franchises that aren't even theirs.

I dont think Crash's time has passed quite yet. it is still possible for him to make a HUGE comeback. But with Activision in charge... i just dont know. If ND were to get Crash back then yes, we would have another Sony AAA exclusive on our hands. Possibly even an answer to Nintendo's very own plummer. A guy can dream... :(

best case scenario is they reboot the game, it fails and in Activision's eyes, see it as worthless IP, then Sony or NaughtyDog scoops it up at a lower value and breathes true life back into this nostalgic franchise, complete with the original voice and costumed man for commercial advertisements, but this time outside of ms headquarters instead of Nintendo.

They better bring this game back in to production because so far nothing this gen has made me say WOW, apart form all the cancelled games and CGI trailers shown at E305.

Crash is a videogame icon and must never die, however, I really wish activision and neversoft would stay away from him.

Naughty Dog didn't sell the rights though, it was like Insomniac with Spyro wasn't it? The game were just given to different developers by the publishers.

Activision should therefore give Crash to Naughty dog or else they're the most evil people on the planet.

ND did sell it. If ND had just given it to another developer then they would have had some say in what the current Crash games on the market look like, not to mention that they themselves would have made a few more crash titles.

It was sold and since Twinsanity the franchise has died. If you look at the video I posted above you'll see why fans want this game to be put back in to production.

Anyone but Activision. Naughty has said that they've moved on from Crash. Its no longer owned by them. Also Naughty Dog is 1st party to Sony.

In a way, the first Crash Bandicoot platform game was a forerunner of Uncharted's Nathan Drake e.g. jungle backgrounds and both kept the game moving rather than relying on lots of backtracking.
There was once a time when animals platform mascots had become two a penny (it lasted a long time from about 1991 with Sonic to 2002 with Blinx). Then the FPS seemed to become dominant after the launch of the Xbox.

But Little big planet and Heavy Rain have become cult successes on the PS3. It seems that PS3 owners can think outside of the box (I'm not an owner by the way but maybe an Epic Mickey in the pre-game Bioshock-type art style, as an exclusive PS3 game, would have gone to the top of the charts). If any console can support a character that has become neglected it is the PS3. But I'd only like to see a console exclusive PS3 high defintion game that remains true to the art style and themes of the PS1 games yet with cutting edge graphics. A true sequel to Crash Team Racing with old school style platforming elements included would be great- Naughty Dog.
