Alan Wake: The Writer is the second, and likely final piece of DLC for the game. Like the first DLC installment, “The Signal”, this package generally offers around two hours of gameplay (and that’s not counting an obsessive hunt for the hidden collectibles). For me, the key difference between The Signal and The Writer is a matter of value. The Signal didn’t really add much either in terms of storyline, or indeed innovation. It was, however, bundled free with new copies of the game, and so if you enjoyed Alan Wake’s core formula, you really couldn’t go wrong. The Writer, though, wants your money. Question is – does it deserve it?
