StrengthGamer: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Review - Wait, is this another Burnout game?

By just listening to my obscenity laden diatribe you wouldn’t be able to discern if it stemmed from real life road rage or a virtual one. Whether I’m cursing at the idiot that is too lazy or stupid to flip on his turn signal or the blind ass that is too slow to get out of my way when I’m drifting around a blind corner at 150mph in their lane, you would never be able to tell the difference. Turns out that driver’s in the real world and the virtual ones exist only to piss me off. Need for Speed: Burnout Hot Pursuit is no exception.

"The cars either handle like a whore on roller skates or a whore on rollerblades there isn’t a whole lot of variation."

Quagmire5278d ago (Edited 5278d ago )

" I can live without the arbitrary engine upgrades and buying a roof scoop, but I can’t even paint a giant penis on the side of my car?"

That line made me lose what little respect I had of the reviewer and their ridiculous opinion. Hot Pursuit is awesome.

I agree. This game is boring. So sad.

could not buy it, simple reason one player.. NFS has always been 2 player game.

Looking Back to Two of Need for Speed's Best Games - Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit

Paul writes - "EA know a good thing when they see it, and for multiple years November was Need for Speed month. In a break from the usual routine, I'm going to be looking back at two games here, released in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The earlier game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which has the distinction of being one of the very best in the franchise. The second game comes from 2010, and is Need for Speed Hot Pursuit; which I'll talk about just as the Remastered version of the game has hit the stores."

Hotpursuit 2 was good as well.

I completely adore this game! In fact its probably my favorite racing game. I recently dusted off my xbox 360 to play Most Wanted 2005. Still a great game, though I do not remember there being such horrible performance. Like massive frame-pacing issues. screen tearing, latency. If any game ever truly needed to be remastered, it this one for sure!

Uuuu, I loved this one. I want it.

No NFS released since Hot Pursuit (2010) has came close. The Ghost Games NFS games were just dreadful (to me they were anyway, 2015 was okay I suppose). Would love to replay this and I hope it has an update for next-gen as well.

DarkZane1680d ago (Edited 1680d ago )

I loved Most Wanted as well (on PS3, I think it released in 2012). After that, it has gone downhill, but the latest games are slowly coming back up. I loved NFS Heat, but it needs to get better before it comes back to same level as NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Then again, NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were likely better because they were from Criterion (in fact, those were the last 2 games from criterion in nfs series).

@DarkZane
complete agree. Most Wanted was good fun as well.

boing11679d ago

Yeah, Criterion has made two best NFS games in my opinion.

georeo1680d ago

Oh yes! They cops vs the drivers online was a blast.

LucasRuinedChildhood1680d ago

Better be 60FPS unlike the original console ports.

Sgt_Slaughter1680d ago

I would be excited but NFS is basically dead in the water at this point, a shell of its former self.
