Yeh The Battlefront series so far has been pretty solid and I enjoyed BF2 on PC very much.

I just hope they don't muck it up as they are currently working on it.

Me and my friend played co-op and VS split screen and it was alot of fun I thought.

I also played a little bit online on PC and it was pretty interesting, although I thought it was more fun with my friend playing too.

I really like the concept and the starwars setting. Id love to see a what a new battlefront game could be.

I think the best starwars game ever is by far Dark forces 2: jedi knight, and I think the new SW movies, half of the basis for SW BF, sucked balls, but the game is FUN.

Why is that hard to understand. Its not the best game ever and is far from horrible, but it is FUN and far better than any crappy star wars game in recent times.

Even without the starwars setting it would still be a good concept and would still be fun. Being one of the few good uses of the starwars license for teh last 10 years is just a bonus.

I dont see how you came to that conclusion when I said that I had FUN wiht it. I didnt say how great starwars is. If I thought starwars was SOOOO wonderful I wouldnt have been disappointed with all 3 crappy prequels, and I would probably play the garbage that are The Force Unleashed games.

Nope. I just play games when they are fun and I remember a time where almost every starwars game was of exceptional quality(super starwars games on SNES, Dark forces/Jedi knight games, X-wing/Tie fighter). Something we havent actually seen since the last SW BF game.

Battlefront is a VERY fun game. The starwars theme isn't the only draw. It had huge battles, land and air vehicles on the same map, and some very cool weapons and abilities. Battlefront is what ultimately got me into Battlefield.

because it was SOCOM with star wars characters. I am a huge socom fan, star wars is ok and the mixture of the two allowed my friends who wouldnt pick up socom to give us something to play together with not so much of a change from what I enjoyed.

the only thing I hated was the damn jedis/siths running around the maps with lightsabers that were impossible to kill. the first one rocked without all the damn lightsaber jockies running around.

Saw a sony rep today he might of slipped something to do with this being mentioned in December the same day sony announce that game on the 12/12, However he said 5 titles are going be announced that day...

I hope this is real. Lucas Arts needs to stop releasing all this garbage (aka force unleashed) and release the next game to their best video game franchise. I'm amazed it took this long.

EDIT: If it doesn't have offline split screen with AI, I'm not going to even waste my money and the people behind this game will all have a bounty on their head.

Hopefully it is set up like the others in terms of the sp and coop. I just hope they take the same aproach with it and not go and change the core mechanics of the game just to please the type of gamers today.

yes!!!!!!!!!! Battlefront is the sh!t! Hopefully this is true, I remember there being video of actual battlefront 3 gameplay before the studio went under.

Last I heard of Battlefront 3, it was being developed by FreeRadical but that studio went under perfor the production finished. Lucas Arts sidelined the project and I havn't heard anything about who picked up development on the title. I thought maybe it would move to Crytech since that's where FreeRadical went.

I doupt Lucas Arts would pick up and finish the game. If they did they would have to bring their "A" game or we are in for a lot of dissappointment.

there were rumors last year that Slant 6 were said to be taking over the battlefront project. maybe after they nearly destroyed socom confrontation they were let go. with some more tweaks the engine is there they would just change the settings and character models.

after a year and change of patching the game got to where you could actually play it but it was too late. maybe with the proper funding and time to test and actually finish the game it may be a good pickup. not sure if I would trust those guys with another franchise or not but thats not my call.

I played SWBF2 online on the PS3 via BC a few months ago. It was fun. The two games weren't the most balanced games (SWBF1 vehicles anyone?), but they were still fun as hell to play, especially when you found a 24+ man dedi server.
