Criterion supported Burnout Paradise like a baby, it was great. They gave free DLC, bundles, cars, and even a whole new section to race on, plus various discounts and other stuff. Im expecting them to continue with this great fan service, probably one of the few game's I dont mind spending more money on for DLC, unlike other overpriced trash *sneers towards activision*

While I do commend criterion for supporting burnout paradise for a good length of time, and giving gamers some good free and paid for dlc. But I believe judging by the file sizes of the paid dlc that they were just unlock keys for content already on the disc(which I don't support the practice of unlock keys for disc based games). I would have also liked to see come to light the dlc that they thought about for burnout paradise which would allow gamers to race on the moon. They did support the game for a while though and again gave free dlc so it sort of makes up for the unlock keys(it still does not make it right, but at least it sort of makes up for it imo).

I like how they have started on it AFTER the game is released as opposed to working on it simultaneously and releasing it a few weeks after the game comes out like some other companies, cough, Capcom, cough.

Completely agree.

Nothing annoys me more than seeing DLC available to buy on Day 1 of a games launch.

Looking Back to Two of Need for Speed's Best Games - Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit

Paul writes - "EA know a good thing when they see it, and for multiple years November was Need for Speed month. In a break from the usual routine, I'm going to be looking back at two games here, released in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The earlier game is Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which has the distinction of being one of the very best in the franchise. The second game comes from 2010, and is Need for Speed Hot Pursuit; which I'll talk about just as the Remastered version of the game has hit the stores."

Hotpursuit 2 was good as well.

I completely adore this game! In fact its probably my favorite racing game. I recently dusted off my xbox 360 to play Most Wanted 2005. Still a great game, though I do not remember there being such horrible performance. Like massive frame-pacing issues. screen tearing, latency. If any game ever truly needed to be remastered, it this one for sure!

Uuuu, I loved this one. I want it.

No NFS released since Hot Pursuit (2010) has came close. The Ghost Games NFS games were just dreadful (to me they were anyway, 2015 was okay I suppose). Would love to replay this and I hope it has an update for next-gen as well.

DarkZane1304d ago (Edited 1304d ago )

I loved Most Wanted as well (on PS3, I think it released in 2012). After that, it has gone downhill, but the latest games are slowly coming back up. I loved NFS Heat, but it needs to get better before it comes back to same level as NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Then again, NFS Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted were likely better because they were from Criterion (in fact, those were the last 2 games from criterion in nfs series).

@DarkZane
complete agree. Most Wanted was good fun as well.

boing11303d ago

Yeah, Criterion has made two best NFS games in my opinion.

georeo1304d ago

Oh yes! They cops vs the drivers online was a blast.

LucasRuinedChildhood1304d ago

Better be 60FPS unlike the original console ports.

Sgt_Slaughter1304d ago

I would be excited but NFS is basically dead in the water at this point, a shell of its former self.
