IGN: Create Review

Create tries to stretch the family game in new directions, but the individual portions of the game feel like lesser versions of a lot of other titles on the market. Super Scribblenauts offers a less frustrating and more creative approach to problem solving; if you're into making your own world, The Sims offers you much more freedom by allowing you to build it how you'd like. And both of those games give you personality and characters that you can feel some attachment to and care about. Create feels like a hodge-podge of small ideas that don't add up to a satisfying whole.

Failed to rip off LBP

/fixed

NecrumSlavery5322d ago

I thought it was a crappy LBP-clone, but the trailer made it look like a crappy track editor for an automatic RC car. It then reminded me of The Incredibloe Machine on PC, where you'd add a few physics based objects to allow the "Mouse Trap" contraption to work.

Over all it's a fail, but whatever. You will have forgotten about it and moved on by the time you are done reading what i am writting. BTW this weeks Tester is out and I have to say I wish War Princess would go. She is so worthless.

Because their is a Sackboy character in it?

Quagmire5322d ago

It seems for every PS3 exclusive, there is always a multiplat

Poor Man's LBP = Create
Poor Man's God Of War = Dante's Inferno
Poor Man's Gran Turismo = NFS Shift

and a few more cant quite remember

Smacktard5322d ago

Saying that it's trying to rip off LBP is like saying LBP was trying to rip off The Incredible Machine.

Actually, Create is much closer to The Incredible Machine than LBP.

Trey4Lyfe5322d ago

But it's certainly not as good as LBP it seemes.

Balt 5322d ago

And so there was tomorrow. EA clearly missed the mark here and I think it can end up hurting the genre. I just hope this doesn't cause an over-saturation of the genre and make LBP seem like just another in the bucket. I fear many of these "create" games are on the way, and none will have the attention to detail and quality of LBP.

Great games are never put in the same bucket.

Consumers are fickle people, man. Don't give too much faith to the blind consumer with cash to burn.

Ether5322d ago

Alright, although the LBP influences are pretty blatant, I think it's gratifying to see EA take chances with new stuff. Better than what Activision's doing, anyway.

Biggest5322d ago

While I won't be buying this game (LBP2 has been paid for since July), I do agree that I appreciate the effort by the developers and publisher.

The idea of burying a negative event of the past is wrong anyway. A country should never be held responsible for it's past, but history is history, and if creative talent draw from that era, it should be fair game to paint an accurate portrayal and not be swept under the rug for the present people to take shame for.

Germany will forever be known as the country that Hitler motivated to atrocities, but that's not the case now. It's just a bad era of history for them. Censorship is not the answer.

People who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

They should've rereleased the original Doom games along the new reboot that just recently came out, something akin to what they did on the PS3/XBOX 360 last gen with Doom 3 that had the original games on the same disc, BUT! (and there's a big but here) with the option to play the games with the original Playstation 1-exclusive soundtrack! Seriously, that dark, ambient music played a huge role in me liking the Doom games on PSOne, it was so much better than the PC soundtrack, consisting of very short loops of some famous metal riffs, it made the game's atmosphere so much more haunting!
