In the second TGV podcast, the staff take a look at a common topic in the gaming media - review scoring. How important are they, and how has Metacritic influence the industry, good and bad? Also looked at - Fallout: New Vegas and Rock Band 3.
MetaCritic is a pretty cool guy. He aggregates review scores and doesn't afraid of anything.
Hahaha! Good episode this week. Fans of Fallout will appreciate the music.
Metacritic adds scores from sites like Edge and even anonymous sources sometimes.
This one was fun to do. Reviewing is always an interesting topic.
Unless they're by Jim Sterling.
I actually kinda like his latest one: http://www.destructoid.com/... Counter-trolling > trolling.
That was gold!
PATROLLING THE MOJAVE ALMOST MAKES YOU WISH FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER.
Totally <3 the music. Fallout always had some good tunes associated with it.
I don't think so. As a matter of fact, if reviews simply said either "Buy, Try, Avoid" it'd all be good.
If that's ALL reviews said, there's be a lot less fanboyism, and im sure there would be a lot less pressure on developers and publishers for higher scores.
Scores aren't important, but critics consensus and some specific critic/user reviews can be of help.
45% yes 55% no why? because that 10% diference is up to you to decide.
