Kazunori Yamauchi is never content, that's what makes him a perfectionist and which makes his games stand on a different level.

Hoje03084973d ago (Edited 4973d ago )

Exactly, he won't be happy until he can replicate reality. This article should not be approved simply because these 'journalists' have twisted what he said it order to start a flame war which will garner them hits. Don't support jackasses like these.

ShinMaster4973d ago

Quoted out of context again.

kaveti66164973d ago

Yeah, people do this with Molyneaux and Ninja Theory as well.

AAACE54972d ago

It's sad a lot of people looked right past the other stuff and only saw GT5!

Comparison: Yamauchi vs. Itagaki

Both are considered perfectionist and are a little cocky about their games. Their games usually get high reviews. Why is it considered that Yamauchi's games stand on a different level, while Itagaki's games are considered average by some?

Yamauchi deserves credit for his efforts, but Itagaki should as well! If all you care about is graphics, then you are a fanboy and I don't care for your opinion. But DoA and Ninja Gaiden both pushed it! Good graphics, fast gameplay, acurate controls, good story, challenging difficulty, framerates rarely dropped with all the action going on.

What more do you guys want!

xer04972d ago

I'd love to see Xbox 360 run GT5.

Wait. That's not possible is it!?

If PS3 isn't enough to satisfy Yamauchi-san, then I doubt 360 will even load the start screen for GT5!

There. I said it.

Perjoss4972d ago

360 already has Forza 2 and 3 both amazing driving games, no need for GT5 on that system. I will still be getting GT5 for my PS3 though. I feel sorry for people that only own 1 system, really.

xer04972d ago

I get tired of people using the same line.

" I feel sorry for people that own 1 system"

I own a PS3 because of build quality, and because of the awesome stable of games on the platform.

I've never been dissapointed and i've never wanted to play an Xbox 360 exclusive. Besides I have my PC for the great majority of so called Xbox 360 exclusives.

Anyway - back to my point. If I wanted to buy a second system... it'd be a the Nintendo 3DS... not the Wii.
I have 30 PS3 titles.

You'd think I'd be able to afford an Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii or all 3... if i can afford to buy 3 games a month eh!?

Back to my point. There are no games on the Xbox 360 that i actually desire. I've been waiting for Metal Gear Solid, God of War 3 and now GT5 on my platform of CHOICE! ;-)

Perjoss4972d ago

@ xer0

its not always about the exclusives, what about the fact that multiplats usually look better on the 360 or do you stay away from multiplats too?

sure I know, you will say that you play multiplats on the PC, but you say you cant afford to buy games yet you seem to have a decent gaming PC, which is not cheap ;)

AKS4972d ago

How much do you think it costs to game on PC? You can upgrade a budget multimedia PC to play most games at very respectable settings. Maybe swap the GPU, PSU, and add a couple of fans. Just a few hundreds bucks (the price of a console) and you're in business. And PC games are significantly cheaper.

xer04972d ago

Dude - where did I say I can't afford to buy games?
I have 30 PS3 games and counting. That's not including my PC games, which I purchase of STEAM.

And no - my PC isn't cheap. I upgrade the components every year!

DigitalAnalog4972d ago

Nope, Ninja Theory spoke out too boldly. Plain & Simple.

"New Dante is the new cool"?

My ass.

-End statement

AKS4972d ago

There were plenty on this website claiming that NT hated Naughty Dog when it was quite clear from NT's actual comments that they consider ND to be the gold standard for action games. They named Uncharted quality as their goal because they admire Naughty Dog.

DigitalAnalog4972d ago (Edited 4972d ago )

However, the only thing that went out of context was when it was compared to Uncharted 2's animations when they actually meant the "original" Uncharted.

This does not excuse them by saying "1.5 million is poor sales", "New DMC is the new cool", etc etc.

-End statement

why some one change the real Title?
Performance>Speed

CREESH4973d ago (Edited 4973d ago )

Poor sense of speed.

PS360fanboy4972d ago

The GT3 had but GT4 and the PS1 games had an incredible sense of speed

xer04972d ago

Maybe you should go and play Burnout, Need for speed or GRID.

This is a driving simulator. Not some faddy arcade game.

nycredude4973d ago

You want to wait another 5 years for that. If not then STFU about that. Premium cars take up to 6 months to complete. You guys know shit about making a game thinking it's easy or something.

baodeus4972d ago

exactly, these fool never understand what it takes to make games as detail as you can. There are many things they have to consider, but first and most, financial part come first in business. Yes, you can make a perfect game if it takes you +10 years, but how do you survive during that time? People have got to eat first, game later. Did game just becomes top priority of the survival necessity ladder (food, shelter, companionship)?

blackburn54973d ago

The guy is a loon. I don't know what else he wants.Save something for DLC or GT6. No game will be ever 'perfect'.

Why don't you Hire Your Old Dev Team who brought us the brilliance of Battlefield Bad Company 2 while you're at it. It was more exciting than anything recent in the Battlefield series. It just needs to be updated to reach modern times, but it was so great at its core.

just_looken6d ago

This would be nice but that team has tossed out the finals and has arc raiders on the back burner
https://www.pcgamer.com/ex-...

20 thousand still play the final's
https://steamcharts.com/app...

Why get slapped around by ea when you already have something going on.

What the next battlefield needs is a step back simple functional not a live service and smaller player servers than 2042. Just make it like battlefiled 3 with bad company destruction just something simple

But they already killed off ridgeline games that had ex halo/cod devs so no singleplayer unless they make another dev team for it.

Rynxie6d ago

It's what made zipper and slant six awesome. They had military vets working for them, no just as consultants, but as developers as well. I wish Sony never closed them, MAG 2 or an update to MAG and a new socom is much needed.

just_looken5d ago

Older ps3 battlefield titles did the same even went to the range to get sound files.

But all these titles we are talking about were on the ps3 a console so powerful it offered free mp and games did not need 4 levels of payment plans even more crazy was the player size of mag's games.

TheColbertinator5d ago

A return to the golden age of Battlefield seems so far away now

Str8Chaos745d ago

Sadly I think you are correct. They just don’t get it. They will do their live service game with its Battle Royale and fail at both.I hate being so negative, but I have little faith in EA at this point.

There are no "thoughtful" ads in video games, EA

I think the only type of games that can gets away with it would be sport games, having those sponsors ads on the side like on real life.

But don't put freaking Doritos ads in Star Wars or something, it breaks the immersion. If it is a pop-up ads, then big no.

Hofstaderman34d ago

EA can thoughtfully eff themselves.

Makersbreath234d ago

EA coming back for the crown of being perceived as the worst company in gaming.

Chocoburger34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

One of my favorite series is the THPS franchise, and it was packed with ads, but it didn't bother me. Posters for skateboard companies, JEEP, and Nokia phones. It did sort of fit in with the game world, but that was the past, these days ad would be intentionally intrusive or unskippable loading screen type of imagery. Ugh, I know EA would do it in a horrible fashion. Screw them.

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga40d ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

MrBaskerville37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

Microsoft did, Phil Spencer played a minor part. He instigated the buyout that led to Kotick escaping all his controversies while getting a golden handshake.

Someone on Twitter calculated that the people hired in Tango and Arkane Austin could get a decent salary for roughly 17 years for the money Kotick was paid.

InUrFoxHole37d ago

Yeah some thing tells me Kotics $ was already guaranteed before MS made the deal. As for the studios... Let's be honest here... none of those studios made system sellers.

XiNatsuDragnel40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

MrBaskerville37d ago

Then they shutdown Codemasters and studio behind Jedi Survivor.

Atleast they could hardly do much damage that EA hadn't allready done. EA has shut down most of their studios by now.

ravens5240d ago

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_39d ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

MrBaskerville37d ago

That's the thing he mentioned about not being a creep at all.

KwietStorm_BLM39d ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka39d ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_39d ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.
