Buy a PS3, easy joke there. Nice to know it's not a problem with this xbox and other people are having issues too.

Why are so many people saying it isn't a problem when it obviously is affecting some people? Just google it and read all the comments. The fanboyism in these comments is disturbing...

Even mikhail_tisoy admits it but just excuses it away, yet other people just flat out say it's not happening. You kids, I swear.

experienced any of the notorious xbox live bugs and failures made popular here one N4g. I updated my Dashboard Omonday morning without a hitch and it updates in about a minute and a half flat.

I found this article helpful. I was getting frustrated thinking I was having connection issues, but it turned out not to be my fault after all. Good advice at the end: turn the 360 off, wait a few minutes and try again. Worked for me.

I don't have any problems with the update itself, but I can't renew my XBL subscription for some reason. I want to play Reach but can't cause my XBL ran out on the 1st, and now it won't let me update it. Is anyone having a similar problem?

SkylineR3273d ago

We were 1st in getting the update here in Australia. Not one single problem occurred when trying to update.

Not everyone is going to have a problem...

Updated this morning-- with no problems at all.

nedensmelly3275d ago

Wow, just because YOU didn't have a problem must mean that NO ONE has a problem, right? I guess staving kids in Africa don't exist either because YOU aren't hungry.

Cookigaki3275d ago

Agreed. Saying no one has problems just because you didn't is very narrow minded. Cookigaki didn't have problems with update but there ARE people that have.

SixZeroFour3275d ago

wait...maybe theres some hidden text im not seeing, but no where in that post did i see the guy say NO ONE is having problems

nedensmelly3275d ago

Yes, you missed it because you didn't look to see that this same user reported the story and said "is this actually a problem?" indicating that he doesn't believe anyone is having an issue.

"I guess staving kids in Africa don't exist either because YOU aren't hungry."

LOL! Good one.

The Xbox Live Fall Update hit today and brought with it a slew of problems. The most notable issue seems to be people trying to download the update in the first place. Don't worry, we're here to help.

Upon signing in to Xbox Live, there is a prompt to update the console. Most likely, if you are reading this article, you end up with an "Update Failed" notification that suggests you check your connection settings or head to xbox.com/support for help. The good news is that you most likely do not actually have a connection problem, at least not one on your end.

Maybe you've tried to hit up the Xbox support page and found it, too, is not working. Again, this isn't your problem. After several emails and waiting in the queue for some help, Microsoft explained the problem as simply a bandwidth issue. So many people are trying to download the update right now that the Xbox Live servers can't handle it. Then, of course, all of those people getting error messages head to the support page for help and cause the same problem over there. Stop the insanity!

You may hear or read a variety of workarounds or MacGuyvered solutions to get your update, but signing in and out five times, resetting your modem, turning off auto sign-in, etc. are not actually going to speed up the process. The only thing you can do is be patient and wait for your update to magically succeed. Rest assured that you do not have a broken console, and your Internet connection is just fine. You will get your update as soon as Microsoft can get it to you.

So the short answer is that you shouldn't get frustrated or spend countless hours googling a solution. Just relax, make yourself a sandwich, and let this article ease your mind while you wait for your update to finally go through.

And refer to my response.. Liar..

Oh look you're the author.. surprise surprise!

This article could have just been three words.

Just be patient.

No problems these guys are just reporting on random issues they are looking for. The article looks like flame and sounds old(by a day). There was the expected traffic overload when the update first released that caused systematic prompts that show up as typical errors. When too many people try to download something all at once the server will lock you out and the 360 doesn't know any better but to display the defacto errors etc.

Zune Music marketplace and and ESPN had traffic issues locking me out. I've been locked out of past NXE updates. XBL runs perfect only hours after you notice these slow downs. Might be IP too and not XBL

Shouldn't examiner.com be in the tabloid section?
