theres nothing wrong with quickscoping, the only people complaining here are the ones who cant do it and its not cheap, i rarely win with the sniper rifle and have an average kill/death while quickscoping. i agree it is sometimes mind boggling how your able to pull it off especially if your on the end of a bullet but its fun. the whole game is cheap not just quickscoping.

Quick scoping is probably one of the easiest things to do in MW2. All you have to do is try it for a couple games then you have it down.

I can do it really well but I really dont think its fun at all. It feels like cheating...

Anyone quickscoping puts themselves at a disadvantage against assault rifles, sub machine guns, LMGs and shotguns. Quickscoping isn't cheap, and in a 1 on 1 gun fight the person quickscoping loses 4 out of 5 times. Quickscoping is fun. It's a respite from camping with a sniper rifle or running around like everyone else with their assault rifle, scavenger classes. Players quickscoped in Modern Warfare before there was sleight of hand pro so removing it from the sniping class wont change anything. Player will adjust to the sight speed and still be successful. Treyarch didn't "get rid" of it. If you lose a 1 on 1 gun fight to a quickscoper, blame the game's horrible auto aim or the fact that you as a player have no aim even with a crutch like auto aim. Call of Duty is cheap. Labeling quickscoping cheap is a bit of an oxymoron when the problem is really the game's auto aim. There a number of videos of Black Ops game play with players "quickscoping" and they aren't using sleight of hand pro.

Quickscoping is easy. I hardly ever used a sniper rifle. But one day I notice alot of people were quickscoping, so I decided to try it myself. The first time I try it I got a instant kill. I actually got alot of instant kills. It was easier to do that than to kill someone from long range. I'm sorry, but there is very little skill involve to quickscoping. Its just one of those annoying things in cod. Just like noob tubing.

So let me get this straight. If a sniper is running around with his rifle then we meet and there is about 10 feet between us, I'm shooting him with my sub machine gun and all of sudden he kills me with 1 shot kill quick scope. Now who's at a disadvantage here? It unrealistic and cheap, it needs to go.

Quickscoping isn't the problem, auto aim is. As long as there is auto aim, players will be able to do just that. In Black Ops it will be worse because if I'm using Hardened pro with my sniper rifle, I wont flinch when you shoot me. As long as you're in my crosshairs and I can scope in and pull the trigger, you're dead. In the article above this one, a player quickscopes and shoots a guy in the stomach and kills him with one shot. As long as you're in his crosshair auto aim will take care of the rest, so if you think it's going to stop you're an idiot. Players quickscoped in Modern Warfare without sleight of hand pro.

this is good for everyone, now quickscoping will require more skill and will be a challenge, which will make quicksope kills more satisfying and skillful. On the other hand, it helps us true players who use the gun mechanics properly instead of running around using the sniper riffle as a battle riffle

I don't have much of a problem with it. If it can be done in-game, then it must be more-or-less allowed. And if a person is skillful enough to go on a killing spree using that, then in all fairness, either patch the game to remove it or let him be.

Nothing beats killing a quickscoper after he tried several time to kill you.

My favorite kill cam was this siper snuck up behind me, tried no scoping/quick scoping. I jumped of the building turned around and SPAS=12 to the face.

I personally am just glad that I'm getting this one on PS3 over 360. I'd actually prefer it on 360 if it wasn't for the 13 year olds constantly spamming messages that say, "I'm hosting a prestige lobby, send me 1600 MS points to get in!!"

I totally agree with you, but when I was playing with my friends MW2 on PS3, I played 4 matches S&D and I got one message from every game. Three were sniper lobbies and one was a tenth prestige lobby for 15€. So I don't know really. Maybe there's less on PS3 of those guys, but not by much, I guess.

How they would remove it is another. Maybe they'll disactivate auto-aim on snipers which could work... Now if they intend to ban quickscoper caught in-game or in theater mode, that would be dumb.

If you want to snipe go play battlefield, its the only sniping that actually feels like sniping. In COD sniper rifles shouldn't even exist, the maps are far too small. "Long" range in a COD map is still well within the range of an assault rifle. Some things just have to go to make way for a balanced game. I don't care how many perks get the boot, take as many as you like.

Quick scoping definitely didn't start in CoD. It's been in PC games for at least 10 years. I'm fairly certain it was started in Counter Strike because of the quick switch button. You could shoot/quick switch/shoot, faster than it took to zoom back out. So people would quickly zoom in, double tap QS, zoom in. Which is another reason why in TF2 Valve added the power meter to somewhat help with that.

It's now pretty uncommon that zooming out of a sniper in CS is unheard of. Just quick switch.

Hrmmm I don't do it but it's not exactly an easy thing to do in the first place. On top of that, it's in the game so why shouldn't you be allowed to use it? Most people probably don't even bother because of how awkward it is anyway.

Conversely, People praise MW2 so much and yet there's always an issue with something in the multiplayer: Noob tubes, Commando Pro, exploitable glitches on maps and now this. I mean, is this game really as good as people first thought? Seems a bit broken if you ask me.

quickscoping has been around forever, like the awp in counterstrike for example. watching a master at work with a deagle/awp quickscoping was incredible... one of the hardest things to perfect in a shooter and feels amazingly satisfying when you can pull it off.

The whole fps arcadey type feeling IS deliberate they aren't not going for that.. it's what makes it so competitive. When you have clutch rounds of SnD where your team dies and you pull off a 1 v 5 is what created some of the best memories and videos from counterstrike. It's not supposed to be realistic and frankly I'm disappointed that they're trying to remove the ability to quickscope if you wanted to.

How they can call this a cheap way to play but not an airstrike, carpet bomb or a noobtube is beyond retarded in my opinion. Although I'm super impressed with what Treyarch has done since mw2 and reducing the casual bullshit to help create a more competitive game, this is not something I'm impressed with.

any core competitive player that was around during the CAL days will be disappointed with this. Even when I wasn't competitive yet, getting killed by that shit always pissed me off but also blew me away at how they could take on so many people at once being so quick like that and inspired me to become a better player.

You can't say CS was cheap either. CS 1.6 today still has to be the most competitive, skill-driven game around.. It was just a simple shooter at its core with you and your gun. There was very minimal explosive / splash damage. There were grenades and you could only carry 1 all round. When those were placed perfectly you'd get lucky and kill 3-4 guys which was probably the most satisfying feeling in a shooter lol. In CS if you were bad, you'd want to get good and if you were good, you'd be rewarded. It was almost 100% based on your sense of awareness, reaction time and accuracy. It's too bad everyone has become crybabies over the years and everyone needs everything to be "fair" according to them regardless of skill level.

Finally someone with common sense. it seems like the majority of this comments section is filled with people who either can't or haven't invested enough time to be able to quick scope themselves or they happen to run out into the open in predictable patterns which allows them to be picked off easier. either way....its hilarious while not surprising at the same time.

the idea that people are seriously crying over the fact that a person was able to take a shot off while barely using their scope at all and still managing to kill an individual is mind blowing. are you seriously about to tell me that if people were hard scoping all day, you wouldn't have a problem with it? the problem is not that someone is able to get off a shot faster than your able to see them, the problem is that your liable to be killed within one shot without any form of retaliation other than martydom.

the main reason why i tend to quick scope in a game is because its more challenging than the standard "run around and spray like a fool" method. its fun because theres that certain level of depth to it where when you see someone and they see you as well, you have to take a shot and hit them or else your fucked until (1) you can reload or (2) unless that other person happens to be shitty at aiming and you happen to be a pro at evading. it takes time and it takes practice to learn it but once you do, you start to wonder if everyone else is playing the game backwards. why anyone would want to take away an in game ability built off of skill and practice from within a game blows my mind....Whats next, Stripping the idea of No Scoping?

i honestly don't understand the rationality behind this. running around quick scoping with a rifle is more challenging than using practically any other gun in the entire game (minus the crossbow & ballistic knife) but for some reason your going to take out the ability to take risky shots off because its too good or too easy to do? sounds like bs.....taking away quick scoping is like taking away the ability to throw your knife in mw2; while there was more luck involved in getting a kill, it was so rewarding to get someone or anyone from a distance. you would be better off taking away any form of aim assist that would help the player achieve kills they really didn't get rather than delaying a small amount of time before one could take a shot off with their gun.

at this point treyarch would be better off taking riffles out of the game seeing as people are still going to "quick scope", the only difference now is that riffles will have a slight delay rather than being instantaneousness when being fired and thus a new name for this action will be formed (think of the use of rpg's in some games where you can't fire the grenade unless the on screen reticle is fully visible). it seems more like people are tired of getting killed in a one hit succession rather than how fast someone is able to aim down the sights and fire.

Maybe you do not fully understand the COD term of quickscoping. You do not even look out your scope, when you are really quickscoping. Sure at 0:44 was a quick scope. But quickscoping is just tapping the scope button really fast, just to pull your crosshair together. And when you watch someone do it, the scope never comes up to the screen.

if anything is cheap, it would be noob-toobing but you don't see anyone petitioning or removing that feature from the game. oh the hilarity, especially seeing how many people were complaining about that feature right after mw2 was released.

taking away the ability to quick scope is taking away the idea of progressive snipers who are always on the move instead of camping in one spot the entire game. sure theres still hard scoping but theres no skill or luck involved in it....just strictly timing.

That's what I forgot to mention above.. I quickscope to add a challenge to my own game (as you explained above as well) but I didnt even think ot mention the playstyle compared to the typical sniper. Taking quickscoping out encourages snipers to sit in a corner from the farthest point on the map and sit there hard scoping the entire time.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this doesn't go well with people these days either because everyone starts complaining about "campers" lol

If you're somebody who can run around with a single shot weapon with only a pistol to back you up if you miss the 1 shot, and you can take out 2-3 guys who are coming at you within 1-2 seconds.. guess what, that isn't the game being cheap its those 2-3 guys sucking.
