Valve bans Bioshock from the office

You probably caned Bioshock on either PC of Xbox 360 all weekend, but the FPS masters at Valve had no such luck; a ban has been imposed on them going anywhere near 2K's shooter until Half-Life: Episode Two and The Orange Box are finished and out the door.

"We had to ban Bioshock from our offices," Valve boss Gabe Newell told us. "Nobody gets to play it until Orange Box is done - that's our reward to ourselves as a company; everyone gets a copy of Bioshock."

Didn't you know they live at the office?[/sarcasm]

Actually, you probably didn't need the /sarcasm at the end. I don't doubt that at this point in Orange Box development they are pretty much living at the office. It's called "crunch time" and every game company has it for like 1 or 2 months right before a big title comes out.

Can`t Valve employees play Bioshock on their leisure time, they have homes right? I don`t think Valve employees are so heavily underpaid they have to sleep in the office. :)

No they live in communist society and have no freedom at all! Not even when they are at home, there are spy cameras and that stuff around /sarcasm

'Our employees can wait until our second port of the same game is complete, and as a reward the gamers can again purchase the same game with some extras...Only when we have conned you all again then can our employees from the money we take from you can we get free copies of Bioshock'

these developers spend probably 12 hours a day making games, I wonder if they go home and got on their PC's, to play more video games... what would their GF/wives or family would think?

pretty much at WORK is where they get to also PLAY.

12 hours if they are lucky! They are heading for crunch time right now and i imagine that many of them are sleeping at valve. Video game programs have one of the highest divorse rates in the US due to the crazy hours.

Wow, they sure know the game is really addictive :)
