Ray Ozzie leaves Microsoft

Ozzie's departure, announced today in a weirdly low-key manner, shows that Microsoft is still struggling to define itself for the Internet era.

Ozzie was the company's Chief Software Architect, a position held previously by Bill Gates after he stepped down as CEO. It was an ideal fit: Ozzie's technical talent and vision for what we could do with technology were extraordinary.

The story is too old to be commented.

Damn lol. Potentially negative Microsoft news jumps to 100 degrees so quickly.

@EvilBlackCat- The contributor probably gathered that it was Xbox 360 related since the 360 is a Microsoft product. Its an honest mistake, I don't think its worth getting mad over. If it were me personally who was contributing the news..I woulda put it under "industry news".

EvilBlackCat3137d ago

NOTHING related to xbox360 and still posted under xbox360 and is heavily visited and commented by xbox haters.

Yeah I agree with evil I mean Ms has many divisions and are not limited to there or 1 product or service.

RageAgainstTheMShine3137d ago (Edited 3137d ago )

M$ is going down and the Xbox 360 ain't/can't/won't gonna save it.

No matter how many billions of dollars M$ pumps in for the 360 it ain't gonna replicate how the PlayStation elevated Sony.

Wasn't low key at all, if was on CNN yesterday and also announced yesterday through the AP new.

He should sign up with IBM.

Goodbye, Mr.Ozzie.

btk3137d ago

If I am not mistaken he worked for Lotus - was the brains behind Notes, worked for IBM when Lotus was bought, and then went to MS.
