Making promises in the gaming industry can often be a double edged sword, as Peter Molyneux can attest to. But there is, once in a while, a promise that gets fulfilled. Brink’s SMART system, which has been heralded as a revolutionary step for the first person shooter genre, truly does fulfil everything that was once promised to us by the game’s developers Splash Damage. Unfortunately, not everything that was once said has come to fruition with the new IP, but there still remains hope that it could yet reinvent the FPS genre.
